The new Ebay Seller update states coming mid-March fixed price listings will becme good-till-cancelled-listings. I list close to 11,000 listings a month and will relist my items 3-4 times a month. This keeps the listings new and fresh. Wont the good-till-cancelled listings get stale and left in the background?
What does everyone think?

This change does not assist me as a seller. It just creates another task -- now I must make sure I close my unsold listings before I incur charges associated with their automatic relisting. I cycle my items in and out of my listings. I don't endlessly relist all of them.
This change is a naked grab by ebay for more relisting fees. It is certainly NOT about helping sellers.

I'm not happy about this at all. Will I quit selling on eBay over this, not immediately, but I am once again forced to seek out other options.....
I liked them to expire, and that was my opportunity to evaluate the item. I'd check prices, making sure I was competitive, and if the item does not sell over a period of time, I remove it.
I really don't want to be negative, but this is another sign that they want to work sellers such as myself out.......
Always auction after auction after auction......
My question: Why do they keep making it more difficult?
FOR GOD's SAKE eBay if it ain't broke don't fix it ..........................
I look forward to everyone's comments

Like many of us, I am reviewing options.
Actions taken so far:
1) No listings are being renewed into the store.
2) All listings that expire are under review and those under a set dollar point are removed from sale permanently.
3) All listings that expire and qualify are being run through auction at blow out prices.
4) New listings have been put on hold, but that may change and some new auctions (only) may be coming.
5) Other opportunities are under review.

I guess I could live with 30 days listings if everybody has to do it. But I want to do it myself.
I want and need control. I want to do my own relisting. I have stuff that I will let sit dormant for
weeks or a month.
I want a reason to look at each listing every so often, I don't want it taken out of my control
and fully automated.
I don't want this.
This how I feel too I was never a 3 day lister I just want 30 days back. Why do we have to be penalized when it si the short sale registers eBay wants to eliminate.

My plan is to lower my store level and be more focused as to what I sell. I will only raise my level if my sales conversion rate increases. I have already raised my level and it appears not to have been worth the effort. With the help of the community I will continue to seek answers to identify tools to increase sales. There is NO rationalization to support GTC is good for my business. I WILL be in control of my business and my auctions. To INCREASE my store subscription is not the answer for me.
Good luck with you choices.

I lowered my store level and improved my profits. I did this last year. I was able to sell the same with less fee due to incentive listing offers each month. I will not be able to use those now. In fact I ahve quit ebay completely.

@vsbelgians wrote:The Rep told me that under this new change where all Fixed Price are switched to Good Till Cancelled, the Good Till Cancelled listings are automatically relisted for 3 months showing out of stock if that item has already sold. At the end of the 3 months, if your quantity still shows 0 left then the listing will be deleted. For those of us that only have 1 of each item listed it will mean that item STILL gets relisted but shows it is out of stock and we will be charged 3 months of listings on items that we will never have again...hence...Ebay gets listing fees x 3 months.
This i= new policy has more smoke and mirrors involved than I originally saw. I am so glad I have stopped listing. and moved to another platform.

What platform have you moved too?
I'm undecided on which direction to head long term.
eBay's silence on the issue is deafening.....

Like you, I downgraded my store one step while waiting to see if eBay reverses GTC and if they do not do it soon I will downgrade another step while looking to jump or spread out to another sales platform. Thankfully there are many alternative options for selling my records and books - specialist sites that appear to be picking up new sellers and buyers from eBay, ironically due to the GTC policy. Previously I've been too lazy to explore the new business processes required to sell on a different platform, but between GTC & exceptionally slow sales I am forced to consider my options. Too bad, I was content to remain here, and have never before posted complaints in the community forum.

I can totally relate, I'd rather come here to help people but eBay management has taken the joy of of that for me - years ago. Why help them when they don't help us?
And that is something I can not change, so I'm not going to try any harder than I already have.
Focus on the things we can change, and I am on that path.
If the GTC mandate was to end within the next 30 days, I'd reconsider leaving ebay all together.
Until that, that option is still on the table.
Anyone at eBay listening?
Doubt it......
Anyway - until then, I am going to continue to strive to provide exemplary service levels. I may ad verbiage to let the buyers know what's going on, as ultimately, they are the ones losing.......

Like you, I strive to give my customers on eBay exemplary service and, because I'm not a high volume seller, much of what I offer is not routine merchandise. It's a shame eBay does not recognize the value of their niche sellers and strive to provide specific accommodations for them and their buyers.

I decided to vote with my money and cancelled my store. I will still use the free listings but will downgrade the amount of listings I have in part because of this change. I also will not use any free listing offers that are fixed-price only as I do not have an interest in having a health issue pop up and being unable to cancel my listings before I get hit with relist fees.
I had tried GTC previously a couple of years ago with my store and decided that I preferred the 30-Day option instead. Being forced back into it is pretty aggravating.

I'm trying to relist items and the bulk relist option just sucks. It locks up, churns and churns, I am not sure why eBay insists on ruining the once great software and then icing it with dictatorial demands on how we do business......
Hello? Anyone listening?
Anyone?

I guess they'll just run forever unless you monitor them closely....

I agree. Different sellers, different businesses, categories, routines.... I want to continue running my business (even if modest) the way it fits my needs. I need FIXED PRICE DURATION OPTIONS.
Yes I have adjusted - I mark the date I need to end the GTC in the seller note for each listing (easy to look at and better than the view on the Seller Hub page) - BUT WHY OH WHY THE EXTRA WORK?
Yes, I know, Google exposure, start and end date added, 30-day cycle changed (great for sellers who like to use GTC) BUT…. This does not fit my needs. I do not systematically relist ended listings. I switch, I remove, I launch new. All this I used to do without having to monitor ending date.
I do not mind changes which are beneficial to MY business. The GTC change is not for me.
