The new Ebay Seller update states coming mid-March fixed price listings will becme good-till-cancelled-listings. I list close to 11,000 listings a month and will relist my items 3-4 times a month. This keeps the listings new and fresh. Wont the good-till-cancelled listings get stale and left in the background?
What does everyone think?

Of course they will! It's bad for search engine results and everything else. However, you can end these listings like you normally do and they won't renew based on previous dates. I hate them and I do not want to spend money on listing fees. I just clean my house and want to find new homes for my stuff and not get bogged down by listing fees.

Well if everyone has good til cancelled it will be the same for everyone. I am more worried because all the items I have when they do not sell I relist them at a lower value. How will I do this if it is relisted automatically?

It’s about money. They get fees for an auto renewal we don’t have control over. I take stuff off the site after a certain amount of time. This makes that nearly impossible with hours of extra work. Plus people tend to buy stuff mkre often when it’s about to end. Why take away our choices?

Am I too old at this, or didn't there used to be a penalty if you end a listing early? I recall - maybe 12 years ago or so - being charged the cost of a listing because I ended a listing early. Their reasoning was that "buyers should be able to rely on how long an item is listed," or some such rhetoric. Do I have to keep track of each fixed price listing now and terminate them right before they end -- as said below, possibly when someone decides to finally buy -- or else I will incur a listing fee????? How hard does eBay want to make this? Can I be assured that there is no penalty if i end a listing before its time is up???

I'm not happy about this at all. I liked them to expire, and that was my opportunity to evaluate the item. I'd check prices, making sure I was competitive, and if the item does not sell over a period of time, I remove it.
I really don't want to be negative, but this is another sign that they want to work sellers such as myself out.......
Always auction after auction after auction......
My question: Why do they keep making it more difficult?
Will I quit selling on eBay over this, not immediately, but I am once again forced to seek out other options.....
I look forward to everyone's comments

Exhausting,
And to listen to the ebay rationalizations as to the benefits to sellers takes the cake. I am pretty good with change but this one needs to be confronted. As I see it this is about control, period.
On the positive side if anyone can inform me how to end a buy it now that I do not want relisted...that would be helpful. I do not want seasonal items relisted. Period.
Ebay representative I will be waiting for a response.
Thank you.

Follow up, I re-read ebays email again and it states.
quote end listings at any time and relist when you want to.
Please advise me how to do this?
As I see it I would have to end the buy it now early, I thought that was a no no.
I do not want to end my buy it now early.
Again, how do I do it.
How do stop a buy it now from being auto re-listed.
I would prefer an answer from ebay rep.
Waiting for advise.
Regards

They want all the one of a kind items to be auctions.

Next they will be automatically reducing your prices every month "for your convenience."
It's margin or volume. I personally work on margin. Don't have a large volume, just trying to downsize.

If you have seller hub you can click on ACTIVE LISTINGS. That will bring you to a page with a drop down box on the right side. There are several options that let you search for specific listings including ENDING TODAY and ENDING IN NEXT HOUR. You can use these to end in bulk if ebay leaves them be.
If you just want to end a few items there's a search bar on the left that lets you put in a title and search for it. I use that box quite often to find a specific item to adjust or end. You just need to put a few key words in the search bar and your items will pop up. If you have a seasonal word in your title that should work for you.
