Someone bought a computer from me. It was paid for already. We agreed to local pickup, I added local pickup to the listing just for them. Now I'm reading eBay's steps for how to show the buyer received their item but I'm not seeing the things in the menus that it says I need to click. For example "3. Select the Arrange Pickup banner." I'm on a desktop computer and not a phone. So, I guess the buyer will get a 6 digit code by email that I'm supposed to enter someplace on eBay's website but I can't find where. Anyone know the right place to look? Usually I can find stuff OK but this thing is eluding me.

According to this link you would need a mobile device with the app to enter proof of pick up with either the QR Code or enter the 6 digit code Local pick up

Yeah, seems weird they'd only provide a way to enter the code on the mobile app. Just below where I was looking at the steps I see "If you don't want to use the app, ask the buyer to sign a copy of the eBay order form at the time of pickup." Maybe I'll just do that but not sure how much I trust eBay to honor a signature on a piece of paper.

I have not done it, but wonder if you could download the eBay app to your desktop and access the window to enter the code from there? Then once the code is entered and everything looks correct, delete the app.

You would be using the same log-on information.

The app only runs in iOS or Android. I'd have to download some sort of Android emulator like BlueStacks, which isn't guaranteed to work with every Android app, to even try to run the app on a Windows 10 desktop computer which is the operating system we have. Looks like Win 11 has built in support for Android apps though.

I'll just log in to the work eBay account on my phone. We'd rather not do that but seems it has to be done.

What about downloading the Google app? They show both on the link. Don't know, just spit balling. 🙂

BlueStacks works OK but TBH, rather than downloading software I'd just use your work phone. I think the expectation is that sales would be done on site with a mobile POS (phone) so they don't have the capability on their web app.

I recently had a local pick up and don't have the app. The customer receives a message with the code on it so they can scan it upon pick up. I was also told to have the customer sign my receipt as being picked up, in the event neither of us can scan the code, and then note it on the sale as shipped, and add a note to the sale record. Keep the receipt in the case something happens or they have a return.

As other have mentioned, the QR code function is only available via the App.
This is what eBay says to do if you don't have access to the App.
