I received my first negative today and am absolutely heartbroken. I try so hard to be good to my buyers but I was not even given a warning that this lady was un-happy. Just a negative without reason. I would have given a refund or corrected whatever was an issue if she had contacted me. I have sent a message to the buyer to find out what about the auction that made her think she would be receiving 3 of the items instead of the 1 she purchased as I do not want to have it happen again. If she purchased 3 I did not receive and order for 3 I only received an order for 1? I just feel this is so unfair. 😳😥

I hope it is something that can be worked out or a simple misunderstanding.
Absolutely ,, you hit the nail on the head . Some buyers [ not all ] but some choose not to contact the seller for a resolution before leaving negative comments in their feedback just with the hopes the seller will come through with some free goodies or a partial refund. It happens . Tulips

Also, is there a way to revise feedback? I looked and what I replied does not come across the way I meant so I would like to change it? mysalonsavings
Yes dear you can . I'm so sorry about this but just bear in mind a negative mark isn't really considered all that bad anymore and we've all had to deal with this too at one time ,, least most of us . In one years time it should vanish anyway [ at least that's what I think is true ] . However in the meantime if you still want to change the feedback you left for this buyer then just go to your '' feedback left '' section and find the message . At the bottom of the page it will say respond to feedback - edit . There you can change it to what you want to say or just add a follow up comment . 🙂 Tulips

It seems this board is for bashing and hurting other not for helping a fellow seller. Those of you that have helped me thank you so much. I really do appreciate your help and advice. Sheila
I'm sorry you feel that way because IMO you seem like a very nice person and someone I would want to purchase from and I may ! . If you ever change your mind and come back please remember this forum just represents people in general and that means you'll need a thick skin sometimes just to be here . I used to believe that nice people didn't need thick skins because they never intentionally insult or hurt anyone and so people would respond in kind ,, but experience has taught me sadly that simply isn't true . I was wrong about that. Tulips

Yeah I remember the thread . In fact I think I have the e bay equivalent of a '' stalker '' that's still all butthurt over your staunch defense . Tulips

I don’t understand why you are still confused - I know you work hard and are a nice person, but it’s a bad misleading listing.
I don’t think the feedback sounds like you tried to cheat her, it reads to me like you’re jeering at her for being stupid.
Feedback is not communication, and she is not required to reach out to you first. That’s why clarity and thorough information is so important in a listing.
It has 100.00 insurance as do all of my packages. Obviously she did not let me know there was issue with it or I would have handled it by giving her a refund and letting her keep the product. I did try to refund her but it has been long enough neither PayPal nor Ebay is giving me the refund option. I do not "jeer" at anyone and am sorry that is the way it is being taken. I came here to ask my peers on how to handle this for their more experienced knowledge. Some of you are outstanding. Some of you seem to like to kick the horse after it is down. Yes I admit I did make a mistake have you never made a mistake?
Yes, TRS sellers get $100 insurance on PM packages.

@this*old*attic wrote:Um.... really? Did you mail an empty envelope? All your buyer has to do is file SNAD instead of INR.
OMG, what a thing to say. The buyer has already told the OP that the package arrived empty and it had a sticker on the package saying it was damaged and content missing.
This OP has not spoken in ANY of her posts to suggest she would be a seller that would send out an empty package in an effort to scam her buyer.

I'm a little late coming back to the thread and I've got to say it took a turn that I do not at all understand. Please don't leave the boards. You are a valued voice I just think for some they assumed to much and did not take the time to actually read the thread. Not a good excuse, but most likely what happened with some of them.

Spot on. As it was once said a millions time over -"It takes al kinds of folks to make the world go around." and always will. Unfortunately, the "impersonal" form of communication and buying/selling internet does infect some people with an affliction that is very much like " beer muscle syndrome".
I enjoyed selling in face to face situations for 41 years - it is mo' betta' than on line selling in many ways but yet some people will still try to run a game on you. That has been going on since Hector was a pup & before. Just deal with it and move on. Just gotta' not let that get your "Upside Down" (Low Rawls song from 1983 best song ever in my book https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2JZBBEL5lTI). Simple message it is always better to look & find the positive sides of life even on rainy days that looking at your shoe shine. Heck ducks are happy when it rains, just watch what they do on a pond, lake, river, etc. when it rains.
To end this rant PMA is always better than the alternative and there is no such place as Utopia.

Sorry, I was irked by her insistence that she wasn’t responsible for anything because it showed delivered, but she’d work with the customer because she was fair. TWICE.
That’s an idea that needs to be corrected, and could be a bad sign.
YMMV

Nor did I in ANY WAY suggest she intentionally sent an empty package to scam the buyer.
‎05-20-2019 06:21 AM
A similar situation happened to me. The eBay agent told me tough nuggies - I should only show what I am selling - period. I get their point and have tried to avoid that ever since.
One can reply to feedback received. Explain that she/he didn't read the listing. Put it back on them.
I, personally would just let it go. Doing or saying anything with the buyer will not get the feedback removed. The buyer is already angry and it won't change anything between the buyer and the seller. Damage is done, I'd just move on - but hey, that's just me.

Just let it go. Feedback is essentially meaningless these days.
I figure a certain percentage of my buyers are going to be mentally unstable, and a certain percentage of those are going to be triggered by something beyond my control. The last negative I got was from a guy who was unhappy item shipping took so long and blamed me despite my having shipped it on the same day. He even added that he was a long time seller and always treated his customers right and never shipped late and what was I going to do for him to compensate him for this massive inconvenience blah blah blah. In a giant stroke of irony, he received a neutral feedback shortly after for slow shipping. lol

@this*old*attic wrote:Oh, no, your reply is worse than her feedback. Thank goodness most people don’t really look at it anymore.
I haven’t looked at the listing, but you should let some of the posters walk you through how to avoid confusion in the future.
I look at FB and I specifically look for seller replies. I have not seen the reply yet but it sounds bad.
