Did you mean:

Final Value Fee Whammy

So, today I checked my payments tab, and it turns out that they deducted final value fees from hundreds of items going back to mid-October. There is an entry for the final value fees and another for the 30-cent payment processing fee.

I went back and checked some items, and the fee amounts were dated today and yesterday. It appears the fees were not removed at the time of payment. Or, perhaps, that is how they want it to look. LOL

I have contacted the Facebook group and am awaiting a reply. I haven't seen any other comments on this subject in the forums. It seems odd that it would only affect me.

Just letting you know to check your transactions. It was a rude surprise before my morning coffee.

Re: Final Value Fee Whammy

No promo offered to me and I certainly would remember if it was.

I sell on 3 accounts.    This messed up deal happened on 2

Re: Final Value Fee Whammy

Maybe if everyone effected opened a chargeback with their CC company or bank disputing the charge they would get their act together. Regardless of whether it is eBay's error or Adyen's they made the decision to move to managed payments this is one of the things they have to deal with.

I just checked and the only one I had where FVF weren't taken out up front and were charged last night was a MQ sale on the 16th of November.

I wonder what the criteria was that caused some accounts to be affected and not others.

Yeah, I went through and checked mine all the way back into September and they all had the FVFs taken out as they should have been.

Re: Final Value Fee Whammy

Did you check on what date they took out the FVFs? I just double checked my transactions & beginning on October 17th, the FVFs were deducted on November 29th. No wonder all of my available funds were completely wiped out to $0 & then charged on my credit card two separate times for additional transaction fees. That is very scary for those sellers who don't have funds that are being processed & then see ebay yanking funds from a bank account.

Let's see if Ebay has the courtesy to at least send out a nice "my fault" mass communication concerning the glitch. 🙏

Yes, all of mine were taken out at the time the payments were made. Not sure why it seems to be hitting some people and not others.

Re: Final Value Fee Whammy

Same thing happens to me today.  Over 1500 FVF charges deducted on the same day (11/29).  Charges are happening every 2-3 minutes in batches.  Some of the fees are dating back to sales in late Oct.  Makes it very difficult to run a business when your cash flow is disrupted unexpectedly.  No communication from eBay about any of this.  At the very least, a heads up would have been nice.  Come on eBay…do better!!

Re: Final Value Fee Whammy

So why didn't anyone create 1 thread about "FVF's not being deducted" in the past 6 weeks? All of these sellers were silently hoping for an eBay/bank error in their favor?

Re: Final Value Fee Whammy

First wave of fees was this morning around 4AM PST. I just noticed another wave of fees this afternoon around 4PM PST.  How many more waves of transaction fees will we see? 🙏This is going to be fun bookkeeping work. 😎

Re: Final Value Fee Whammy

Same here. No fees since last month, then suddenly everything all at once today! I thought eBay was going back to the days when they'd charge everything in one lump sum monthly, so I didn't question it. Thankfully, I have enough in my account to cover it. I'm not mad, I know that's what I owe eBay. ...But in return, I think eBay owes an explanation and/or apology. A delay in payments owed might also be nice for those not as fortunate to have all the money available.

Re: Final Value Fee Whammy

100% agree....there is no point in being mad & I also have the funds to cover the fees. Imagine the fellow sellers who don't have funds to cover the fees.

If the fees are unpaid due to a system glitch, then I want to know about it to settle the fee right away. Ebay definitely needs to provide a formal explanation or apology. However, I doubt we will see such apologetic business practices.

Good luck to us all....we shall see what the next few hours bring us. 🙏🙏🙏

Re: Final Value Fee Whammy

Right, but you also just spent however many weeks not getting charged?

Ebay burped, but I don’t understand how it affects any one’s finances.

Re: Final Value Fee Whammy

They did the same thing to me at the same time!  They hit me with 750 Final Value Fees!  Do I get to go back to 750 eBay sales and say "Hey, I undercharged you, I'm going to take that extra money now."  F no!  This is an eBay problem, not a Seller problem.  They have a glitch, fine, fix it and move on.  Take the loss on yourself eBay.  I will tell everyone I know that if you decide to sell on eBay, you're on Destination F'd with Ozzyman.
