Filed Case and Appeal

All,

I have had nothing but really good interactions on eBay for years. I saved up for years to get my son a really nice watch as a graduation gift. I had planned to order but ended up winning it on an auction, May 18th.

The problem is that it showed as "shipped untracked" with an estimated delivery in early June. I check the status daily.

At the beginning of the month, it suddenly showed as delivered on May 23rd  (Weeks prior)  and listed a FedEx #.

I called FedEx and was told that # did not coincide with our name / address do they couldn't give me any info.

I contacted the seller, who insisted it was right and then filed a claim w/ebay.

There was no movement until the last day and now eBay closed the case saying they were provided proof of delivery.

Just the little info I can see for FedEx says it was 'adult medical' needs and was signed for by a name that is totally different and doesn't live here!

Is there something else I can do or say to get this through to eBay?!

I'm very frustrated and sad! This has ruined what should have been a really nice moment.

Re: Filed Case and Appeal

If you paid by credit card, contact your card company.  That is the fake tracking number scam.    If you have not filed a case with eBay, you need to file an item not as described case.   You will lose an item not arrived case.

Can you clarify what the tracking number shows? Does it indicate that it's invalid, or is there specific information about the delivery status?

Re: Filed Case and Appeal

Before you contact eBay to file a claim or an appeal, it's extremely important to have all your ducks in a row. Only use the chat feature for eBay CS so you have a written transcript. eBay knows that they can't deny anything they said if there is a written record.

Additionally, take and submit screen shots of any info you use to prove your side. Investigate your seller's reputation via feedback, or by confirming their shipping location address. If eBay ignores your information even after an appeal, at least you have everything needed to file a chargeback for your credit card company.

eBay is fully aware of numerous buyer and seller scams that are currently operating on eBay. Yet, as long as banks and CC companies continue to flip the bill for losses, eBay will most likely continue to "pass the buck", until the banks say "enough is enough".

Re: Filed Case and Appeal

On each Ebay page there is a link to contact Customer Service at the top of the page and again at the bottom of the page.

I would suggest that you contact Ebay for Business on Facebook, Instagram or Twitter for the better trained CSRs.

Here are your options for contacting Ebay Customer Service. Please be aware that for social media CS, you send them a Private Message and briefly explain what your problem or issue is. Feel free to leave your Name, address, phone number and/or your email address in this message. It is private and secure and it may help to speed up the response for you.

https://twitter.com/askebay

https://www.facebook.com/ebay

https://www.instagram.com/ebayforsellers/

Your options will be on the left. If you use the link below you can only get to the Automated Assistant or Chat box type AGENT in the box and hit enter. You will then get more options. Not all options are available 24/7. It will depend on staffing available. So sometimes you can request a call back and sometimes you can't. Sometimes you have the Chat option available and other times it won't me. If it is important to you to use one of those options, just try back later.

If you use a cell phone or other mobile device, you may need to turn off your Spam filter so that Ebay can call you.

If you are a seller outside of the US or Canada, you will need to use the Chat Option.
