Between higher fees and softening sales, eBay has run it's course with me. It used to be profitable but now, it's just another waste of my time and money.

I also noticed that many of the Legend and Rockstars are just pretentious...anything else?
What logical responses did you offer?

Basic store has (and has had for several years) ........and additional 10,000 listings.........
Additional fixed price insertions in select categories.opens in a new window or tab
Pay no insertion fees for 1,000 listings.opens in a new window or tab

Mind you, extremely unjustifiably pretentious, if there is such a thing.

The additional FP listings, as you noted, are only for select categories. That doesn't help everyone. It works great for me as I was able to downgrade my store when they started with this perk. But for others that don't sell in those select categories it won't work very well.

Who are you talking to? The OP?

Are you implying you are going to remove the 33 items you currently have for sale?

I had 2 sales today. $6.50 & $8.00. On the $6.50 sale, 26.3% was taken off & 25.375% of the $8 sale. Since I offered free shipping on those (fortunately both are going combined), what does that leave me? It leaves me fed up & discouraged from listing affordable items.

@sakic92710 NEVER list with free shipping without first adding the ship cost to the item price.

I do. The second sale (6.50) sold on an offer because I knew it would go as combined S/H & not add to the cost to mail them.

You are supposed to add the cost of the shipping to the starting price. If you do not do it this way, you are doing it wrong.

You always wish to respond as if the person making the comment(s) does not know what they are doing. I've been selling online for 21+ years. Also - I don't hide behind a fake ID to voice or express my opinions here. 🙂 Completely transparent.

Yes, i agree that some items may not be suitable to sell here.

In 2012 ffv fees were 10% plus 2.9% to PayPal, plus a .30 transaction fee. (PayPal is $3.49 now, excluding an International fee.
Ten years later the fees are nearly the same. In some cases you save 1/2% to 2-1/2% compared to the fees before managed payments. There's a few categories that costs more now. We should be thanking eBay for not raising fees every year like the USPS does.

I take it a step further. I never list with free shipping.
Free shipping means you can never safely mark down items or run percent off sales without risking paying for the privilege of sending out something.
Free shipping makes that percent off offer or percent off sale look much worse for the exact same dollar amount of drop.
Free shipping (or fixed shipping) on heavier items means you will often end up shipping those items to the furthest possible zones at the highest possible costs.
Sure, sometimes you get people who buy more than 1 and then you can ship them together and keep more money. Same thing happens all the time when you charge for shipping as well.
