No… it is not required to leave FB.
And asking for FB is asking for trouble…

Don't sweat it. We live in a world where is easy for someone to complaint about something, but impossible to thank or show gratitude when something goes well.

The best you can do is give a good product at a good price. L0ts of people will respond to that. (but not all).

There is no way. I have sold waaaay more items than what my feedback shows. The way I look at it is I sold them something, they must be happy if they didnt leave any, I have their money, all is right in my world.
No one really pays attention to it anyways. If ebay should change anything, they should do away with it. It just doesnt have the same meaning it did at the start.

If anything I see eBay doing away with positive feedbacks for sellers. Much like how they did away with negative/neutral feedbacks for buyers.

Buyers do not consider FB all that important. Just focus on customer service. All will be good.

Feedback is voluntary for both buyer and seller. I advise not asking for it.

Leave feedback on shipment. Since FB is no longer dated, put the date of shipment in the feedback.
You can also leave a note with a request for feedback in the parcel, along with how to get in touch with you and a list of other similar items that may be of interest.

Be patient. You will receive feedback on your trust.

Yes. If buyers are happy they will definitely give feedback. It is a good idea not to bother asking buyers ..

It is very difficult as a new seller to sit back and wait for your feedback to build up. But it is something each and every one of us has gone through.
It isn't in your best interest to ask your buyers or remind your buyers to leave FB. That can have the opposite affect on your buyers than you want, even if you were completely polite and thoughtful in your request. You risk getting some harsh FB.
What I usually suggest to new sellers it to find something from around your house that you can sell for cheap. At least break even on what it is worth now. Things you feel will sell rapidly. Low $$ items. The more transactions you have the more chances you have of the buyers leaving FB.
Welcome to Ebay and I hope you have a very successful time with your selling here!!!
