I have been on the phone with eBay the past 3 days discussing the above issue. All of a sudden my July sales are getting charged an additional 5% for item not as described. I talked to a few reps and they said it was getting forwarded on to the performance department. I finally got an email from them, not a call which was promised. Everything in the email that talks about seller metrics I already do. The last rep I spoke with agreed the fees seem out of line. The rep I spoke with said she was putting in a dispute for the fees. Anyone else have the same issues?

Not only did you pay shipping both ways..and you lost that money.. you lost that sale and paid the regular fees and Then they Add an Additional 5% ....They will give you lame brain excuses..and will continue until they make the stock holders happy.

You can call all you want ..Ebay will charge you what they want , when they want..You have to remember, we are going thru a pandemic..People are not buying like they did..Ebay has to keep the stock holders happy.

They will keep charging you the 5% fee.And they decide when they will stop...I had this happen to me 2 times now..The only way I could stop it was lower my Sales. I listed to hardly nothing. For they to stop the 5% fee.I used to be a Top Seller and have 100% feed back..I sold 226 sales in 1 year I had 6 infractions..Arrived damaged or the buyer wanted to return the item......They told me I had too high return rate......It makes no sense...They are robbing their sellers.

I am also being charged an additional 5% for "item not as described" and I just shipped that item yesterday so the buyer hasn't even received it yet. I'm trying to get through to ebay but keep getting error messages. Two other item being charged were just delivered yesterday and the buyer hasn't provided feedback or requested a return so how does ebay determine that it wasn't as described? Very frustrating.
Hi,
I have been charged this fee as well. I actually had the fee and all monies they charged reversed after contacting Ebay about the issue.
If I am reading your post correctly I get the impression you believe the items you sold that were charged with the 5% fee are because that particular item was not as described. However that is not the case, it has to do with the amount of returns you have done with the Item Not as Described reason selected as the reason for the return. I was told by Ebay that they go back a year when looking at how many returns you have done. Once they deem your percentage, as compared to other similar seller in the same category, warrants a Very High rating then all future items in that particular category will be hit with the 5% fee
Anyways I hope that helps
P.S. I never have good luck when I call Ebay as it takes forever. I have always had good luck requesting they call me so I dont have to wait on hold

They will automatically charge you $20.00..Bingo.....right out of your checking account..At a Stranger Beckoning..It is not Fair and possibleably not legal.
Please take note that I don't see any evidence nor do I believe that they will be charging a fee for every not as described dispute and every return. They do mention that there will be a dispute fee of $20 for 'payment disputes' which are credit card/bank disputes. They aren't for ebay MBG claims. Paypal has the same fee for those type of disputes and it seems like they will be handled in the same way by eBay as they were in Paypal. The fee is only charged if the seller fights the charge back and loses. If they fight and win or refund when the charge back is started, the fee is waived.

As mentioned in post 15, they do charge sellers the extra fee if they are over a certain amount of item not described claims. It doesn't sounds as if you are over that limit and since many sellers are getting charged this by mistake, I suspect you are as well. You need to check your seller dashboard and your service metrics. If they are not showing that you have more than 1% and more than 10 nad claims, you should contact customer service to get credited for that 5 percent. Some sellers have already been credited.

Just spoke to a customer service rep and he confirmed that there was an issue in the system. He read the statement back to me from his info. My extra fees were credited yesterday (7/28) and should reflect on the July 2020 statement.

Well, look on the bright side (I suppose) - though money is taken out, you credit back.

Send them a bill for what you believe they owe you, who knows they might just pay.

Yes...whether the SNADs are real or not.
My ratio of real to fake SNADs is still upside down...3 fake for every real one but is much better than last year at this time when it was 5 to 1
