I'm getting an error message in trying to reply to customer email inquiries. It says the device I'm using is not supported by eBay and to use one that is however they don't say how to find such. I'm using the latest low end model Android phone from t mobile and the only one that was available at the time. I'm using chrome to connect. I can connect if a person has bought something and I go through the sale info but I cannot reply to random potential buyers with questions about product. This is hurting my sales and reputation. What do I need to do to reply to emails and why is this happening?

Try using a computer to respond to messages.

I would have to purchase a computer so I would need to know what computer to buy to make messages work. Apparently from the error message not all computers work also. It is difficult to solve the problem when no exact solution is given by eBay.

Try clicking on the members ID and click contact buyer and then answer their question. I've gotten that message on my laptop a few times. It's been a glitch for some time now. Wish ebay would address and fix it. One more thing to hinder sales, no seller needs nor can afford.

That works if they have already had a transaction with me but if they have never bought anything for privacy issues I suppose I can't send them a message that way. I understand ebay doesn't want anyone spamming arbitrary people. For some months now it went back to my ebay when I tried to reply. Now all of a sudden I'm getting this error message saying basically ebay messaging is not compatible with my Android phone. Odd......many thousands of people access ebay with Android phones. Hmmmm

Oh One More Thing
As long as you are using a repeatable cell &/or internet service you should be fine. Stay a way from a company like Uncle Fast Phil's Fine & Almost Free Cell and Internet Services you should be good to go.

I'm using an Android phone which I've been using for many years now without issue. eBay is supposed to be mobile friendly unless their policy has changed. Have I missed something? And I always use eBay messaging. Thanks for checking.

If you are using a mobile browser, try using the eBay app or else request the desktop site version of the page with your mobile browser. Or try another browser.
Details about requesting the desktop site version of the page in various browsers can be found here:
If you are already using a desktop browser, try a different link such as this link to messages from members:
https://mesg.ebay.com/mesgweb/ViewMessages/0/m2m
If you have eBay messages sent to your email address, you may be able to read and respond to them there.
If all else fails, try reading your messages on ebay.ca instead of ebay.com.

I have an Samsung Android too I switch to Sprint (bought out by T-Mobil a year or so ago) for economic reasons (Verizon was nickel & dimming every time I turn around, was a Verizon customer since 2001 - the only phone that would work for me at my home - had 3 other phones services - work issued - rarely worked at my home base dropped calls like crazy). I live in a marginal cell signal are - one or two bars. Within 90 days I switch to Spectrum Mobile. 3 years ago - best move I every made - a lot cheaper way less dropped calls. What is strange Spectrum runs off Verizon tower and there are two cell tower wit in ~4 miles away from me I st almost in the middle of both I and we at the highest plateau in our county (FYI
general Sherman camped his troops on the land I live on during the Civil War) While none of this is related to your issue I does say there "could" be and issue with your carrier or your phone or a setting. If you like I me my phone is "Smarter Thane Me" = only need one to talk, receive, and , check the weather - its is not my entertainment or social network, used to buy or sell or my bank - I am a '44 year model.
How old is your cell. Yes it could be an eBay problem phone. Phone aren't like a car you can' hear the rods knocking or brakes squealing, gears grinding etc but the do get old and out of date.
