Do you know when ebay is going to pay themselves with managed payments?
Answer: On the 15th of every month, just like when I used PayPal
As it is now I know sellers that use their money for operating expenses during the month before payment to ebay is due.
Comment: Not sure why you can't do this, I transfer money from my checking account back into PayPal once Ebay sends me a payment.
It seems like this is going to be a large change in cash flow and with managed payments sellers will be missing out on working capital for a month.
Comment: I don't see how sellers miss out on working capital. You still have your money, just 2 days later than with PayPa.
So do final value fees come out before sellers get paid?
Answer: No, final value fees are paid the say way there were with PayPal.
What about insertion fees?
Answer: Insertion fees work the same as when I was linked to PayPal.
Are they going to fix the seller hub since not all the insertion fees paid by seller show up on the selling cost on the seller hub?
Comment: I don't experience this so I'm not sure. Might want to report this existing issue to Ebay.
All in all, I think I've lost 3 to 4 buyers because of not accepting PayPal. I use to get a couple of sales via GSP which I don't get now. I get my sales, full sales price, sent to my bank every 2 days. This is a little pain but, once I receive a transfer, I immediately transfer the exact amount of funds back to PayPal. My working capital is only delayed by 2 days.

Yes we do sell on Amazon.....But you see Amazon told me up front what they wanted and I made that decision to sell there. Sometimes I do not get my money for a month. But I knew that going in. I do not sell anywhere near what I used to sell on Ebay.
We have actually started our own auction web site and is doing quite well locally about 2000 a week so far. we are working on building that along with our B & M store and other things we do.
I am not a big fan of Amazon but again I entered into that area with everything spelled out up front, so I have select things on there.
We are nothing more than renting a booth at your local flea market, but we are expected to pay a tax on the sales, pay for a spot, pay for each item we put in that spot, pay for each item we sell in that spot, not we are saying go ahead and take my stuff and pay the man for my stuff and he will give me back what he wants and if I dont like what he gives I can kick rocks.
Ebay on the other hand I have been selling for 20 years and the last 4 have made it part of our business. Yes, I know businesses need to change with the times, but Ebay seems to be taking a lot more money and I am selling a lot less product. Not because I sell used clothing, but pure fact is the views to my products have dropped by over 60%. I did not pay, and contiue to pay, Ebay as much money as I have to have my products put on a back shelf or completely out of sight. I have people looking for my products that can't find them unless I give them the item#. You can no longer look for products but my store or user name. I mean that is simple stuff. I buy a lot on here and the only way I can find someone I like to shop with is to go to my past purchases and get a link from there. Ebay does nothing for me anymore and I am tired of it.
I PAY FOR A STORE, I SHOULD HAVE A STOREFRONT THAT YOU CAN SHOP BY SEARCHING MY STORE NAME.
I have a lot on ebay that is not in my B&M store. Ebay would benefit by having a store search because I refer a lot of my customers here to go on Ebay, but they are having problems finding my store and items.
And if I pull it off to sell it here then Ebay Gods know that and will put a hex on you and shut you down.
All I want is for Ebay to fix what they have. Make this a true users site. Poeple want to search by user name or Store name, what is the harm in that. Ebay will still get thiers. It is getting to complicated to work with them as they seem to have stop listening to any decent recommendations. Ebay does own the site and dictates how it is ran but we are all small business owners trying to make a buck and run that business and I think most of us try to comply to be good customer service sellers.

As part of an eBay Expressions survey many months ago, they were trying to recruit Beta participants and I was pretty harsh in my critique of the new platform and said NO more times than I could count. I think that in theory, it is a good concept and has the potential to be a winning situation for sellers. HOWEVER, whenever eBay tries to manage anything or change anything lately, it gets screwed up. Bottom line, I don't trust or have confidence in their ability to carry this out without impacting seller's bottom line. That was concern number one. Number two is a potential delay in payment. Today, if I transfer $ from PayPal by 7PM EST, it is in my bank account the next business day. It is unclear of the timeline for eBay managed payments. From folks in MP, what is your experience - please be as specific as you can with an example (ie Sale on Monday, money transfers Tuesday, in my account Wednesday). That may help alleviate some seller concerns. Third concern was not being able to accept PP - that will be resolved Summer 2019 - if eBay can keep that promise. New concerns - we still have to pay USPS out of PayPal, so ideally the money from eBay should hit my bank at the same time PP is withdrawing for postage...unless I charge all of my postage to PP Credit - if that is even a possibility. eBay should have setup an interface to deduct USPS from MP. Is MP transfer at the time or order acknowlegdment or shipment?
As always, I have to agree with Rich.

My sales have tanked for several months now.
When I switched to Managed Payments, I did not realize I was eliminating Paypal. So far I have received 7 sales using MP.

To be honest, I'm not sure what you just typed. But, since I opted in to Managed Payments, my sales, quarter over quarter, have increased. I've lost (from what I can tell) is 4 sales due to buyers not wanting to use the managed payment system.

Get ready for the poor house after switching ebay decided to have a negative no Paypal excepted type listing right up front on ours and anyone who has switched to new payments option and thats a no no in sales everyone knows that! or so I thought! our sales fell off the planet from 3000 a month to just a few hundred the buyer will click through as soon as they see it ebay was built on Pay Pal why can't the buyer use it as well to pay?.

usmediamass,
To be honest, you dwarft me with sales to my experience with really can't compare to you. My initial response to your response is, I don't rely on ebay for much of my daily/Monthly financial accounting. I keep my own records and only compare to eBay at year end.

I have let Ebay know I to have the same benefits from whatever they put in place that Paypal gives me. Paypal is what most people in the country use.

Paypal is great and trusteed by buyers and sellers for a reason. Yes, the extra fees can suck at times. However, Paypal is secure, trusted, and seems to honor their values to their customers and sellers. I would rather Paypal handle transactions.
Yes, it's time to get rid of paypal and switch to something really confusing and that does'nt make any sense at all.

1) Ebay is not listening nor do they care.
2) As of 2021, per eBay, Paypal will no longer be a payment option on eBay's site (see eBay/Paypal separation agreement)
3) If managed payments are all that and a bag of chips, then why does eBay still use Paypal to get paid their monthly sellers fees, instead of using Adyen?
4) Many long time sellers (particularly smaller sellers of unique and/or vintage items) have left the site for greener pastures or just different pastures.
5) Ebay's stock is down over 40% year to date, because many investors have dubious doubts about whether eBay's management can continue to grow its business and compete with other companies like Amazon and Walmart. Recently, eBay was downgraded by 4 stock analysts from a buy to a neutral.
6) Ebay may seem "big" as a company via users and money, but is dwarfed by Amazon and Walmart and by the way, Amazon's and Walmart's number of revenue and growth are in the double digits, where as eBay "struggles" in the single digits and has for the last couple of years.
7) Ebay cannot compete with Amazon or Walmart, because of the cost of shipping impinged on either the buyer or the seller. Walmart and Amazon "truly" negotiated special deals with the USPS for shipping on their products, whereas eBay has only given lip service to negotiating these deals and in truth gives sellers ONLY the business rate that any business can negotiate with the USPS. Furthermore, both Amazon and Walmart offer their patrons more options of service. Walmart - still offers brick & mortar services, but also offers free shipping or pickup by customer (at their convenience). Amazon offers way too many services not offered by eBay to even list and continues to add to these services and thus gives a customer a truly "one stop shop" for many diverse products and services.
😎 Ebay continues to change (ALMOST MONTHLY) its platform, policies and now how sellers get paid and how buyers buy. Such volatility becomes "dizzying" (like Adyen and the roll out of manage payments), which leads to buyer loss and then by association seller loss and then by association unique product loss. This is a viscious cycle spiraling downward leading to a loss of site relevancy to sellers and buyers alike.
