While I was waiting for Hurricane Ian to blow out, I did somewhat of a deep dive on my listings to find out why sales have fallen over 60% since July.
To my amazement there must have been some editing done to the search code that bring up different results.
I am going to use one of my own examples to explain this:
Here is a search for an air rifle that I sell by part number:
https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_trksid=p2047675.m570.l1313&_nkw=Umarex++2251389&_sacat=0
And here is a search of the same item by name:
Both of these items have identical part numbers yet the search result is wildly different. This never used to be this was as a simple inquiry by manufacturer and the associated part# located in "Item Specifics" would query together and apparently now they do not.
When a google inquiry generated and an ebay result comes up on a specific item.....it's generating two different results. With google controlling 74% of internet search traffic and the corresponding ebay result ....it's no wonder that views of my specific listing are down nearly 70%......this result would be from ebay reporting as well as the fact that my listing might only come up 1/3 of time.
I did the same across almost all of my listings and found a similar result.....a decoupling of item specifics from your listing title.....in an ebay search result.
I have to play around with this a lot more.....but that is one of the reasons why sales are down on ebay

This is 100% correct
