other than the savings on insertion fees if you have enough listings

Time away feature, very handy

Terapeak research tool, use it all the time

ebay branded shipping supplies credit, stuff is overpriced, I would take 1/3 the amount in cash if possible.

Ebay stores ,

When you start paying the insertion fees on everything you list it's cheaper to pay for a store and get tons of free listings.

Time away is available to all sellers, including those who do not have a Store subscription.

A Basic store makes no sense for a seller who has just 161 listings. Stores do come with handy management tools, but financially can only be justified by the free insertions and lower final value fees, neither of which would apply in the original poster's case unless he upscales significantly.

Ebay stores ,

assuming you have a "starter" store if you are asking about basic....

but, the lowest level starter store does give me the marketing tools that I need to have sales, etc....i think the only difference between a starter and basic are the number of free listings (i think)

Starter store subscriptions pay the same final value fee rates as non-store sellers.  The lower final value fee rates are available for subscriptions at the Basic level and higher.

Also, checking the OP's feedback page, he does not seem to have any Store subscription.

Ebay stores ,

IMHO, unless you're a permanently part time little seller like myself and are looking to grow, the Basic store is the best deal on here.

Ebay stores ,

thank you all ,

isn't the basic just the same 250 free listings , and the FVF seems to be very slightly lower , just wondering if I can get enough sales to justify that extra $8 / month , I know that may sound cheap , but most of my listings aren't jumping off the shelves , i'm looking for new things to sell

Ebay stores ,

The lowest level of Store subscription is called "Starter" and yes it gets 250 free insertions per month, the same as non-stores.  It was introduced a few years ago, after eBay had already assigned the name "Basic" to the level of Store subscription that gets 1,000 fixed price listings per month (plus 10K in "select categories"). You can compare the FVFs for Starter vs non-store using the links below; I thought they were the same but maybe not.

Ebay stores ,

It's based off the amount of stuff you want to sell. Fees are cheaper if you listing a lot of stuff and sell. If you have like say 20 items to sell from time to time then no a store is not for you. You have 145 listings  so really anything over 50 its recommended to get a store. Saves you money and in theory you are pretty much a store with that amount of inventory.

How does the math work for that recommendation? The Starter store has the same 250 free insertions and (probably) the same FVF rates; the Basic store subscription cost would not justify the FVF savings on that number of sales and there would be no savings on insertion fees because they aren't using up the 250 that they'd get without a Store.
