Ebay refusing to release my payouts

Ok, so i've been going thru this for over two months now and i would like to add ebay customer service has been then worst i've ever experienced. So im a top rated seller with 100% positive feedback, always ship my items next day, have already switched over to MP etc and have never had a problem. All of a sudden ebay asked me top upload a new ID just shortly after mine expired. So i upload my government issued tribal ID, but that wasn't good enough for them they said. So i ordered a new government issued state id that took about 7 weeks to get in the mail, once i got that i uploaded it and got a email saying thank you for updating your information, if your payouts were on hold you will start recieving them now. I waited several days and still no payouts and my account has been restricted. so i tried to chat with ebay about 20 times thru out these two months and got alot of different stories. After i proved my identity with my new ID, They asked me to update my address and everything would be fine, i have two addresses and they wanted me to use the one on my ID where i live at rather than use the one where i work at, fair enough, whatever. So after i did that still no success, i start another chat and the person this time says we will no be able to reinstate your account or release your payouts and says im too much of a risk. Im basically fuming at this point and just can't understand what they are talking about, they keep telling me they are going to forward this case to the higher ups and they will get back to me within 3 business days, I've been told this every time i talk to them and never hear back from anyone. So basically they owe me $926 in payouts that they are holding hostage and will not give me an answer. This all started over an ID which i provided them two, they know im a real person, they have my original ID, both my government issued ID's, my ssn, my bank account info, my debit card info and there's just nothing else i can do. I will also add that they gave me a deadline to get my state issued ID uploaded since my federally recongnized tribal ID wasn't good enough for them. So the deadline was 6/12/2021 and i got the new state ID in the mail finally and uploaded it ti them about two weeks before this deadline, but now that i've done everything they asked and jumped thru all their hoops including chatting with customer services agents for hours over the past two months they are resticting my account, holding my money for items i sold and btw they already go their money in fee's etc. Not to mention they allowed me to keep listing, selling , and shipping products while my payouts were on hold until awaiting my new ID, which i kept doing that in good faith to ebay because i had to clue they were going to do this to me. If anyone who works for ebay or has any ideas on what i should do please help. I can't get anywhere with ebay customer service. I can't think of anything else, but to get an attorney to help me retrive my money at the very least because i've done nothing wrong here and ebay is being silent when i ask when my funds will be released. I really want to keep selling on ebay, but i need my funds released at the very least.

Have you successfully enrolled in managed payments?

Yes, enrolled and received thousands in payouts before all this happened.

I'm trying to wrap my mind around your problem. Was the initial ID you used your "government issued tribal ID"?

@mega_valuez

Go directly to eBay's Facebook page and write them a message. Been reading this is the best way to reach someone and it usually takes a couple hours to get back.

Sounds like you have to many Id's that your trying to present, I enrolled in February and never had to show any ID.

I agree with you about the CS, they haven't a clue. But you need to get a hold of someone pronto before they do something to your account. Best of luck to you.

Re: Ebay refusing to release my payouts

No, my original ID was a state ID, but i uploaded my tribal ID first because i was still waiting on my new State ID. They told me my tribal ID wasn't good enough proof of my identity so then i uploaded my new state ID when it came in the mail.

Re: Ebay refusing to release my payouts

Sorry this is happening to you.

I can only tell you what i would do in your situation. I would be on the  phone/chat/facebook with ebay until i got some concrete answers.  If they deemed you "too risky" fine, that's their decision. But how do you get your money? Ask for a supervisor or that supervisor's supervisor.  I would take it to the highest level possible. Getting a US based customer service agent would be  big help.

If you can't get any results through customer service, a snail mail letter to ebay corporate may be in order.

Good luck you you.  I hope things work out.  Please keep us posted.

When contacting eBay ask for a payment specialist. Regular CS can not help you.

Okay... this makes sense. I had a feeling that eBay was fishing for an update of the original ID they had already 'approved'.

I absolutely HATE contacting eBay over the phone. Do as @silverstatetreasureboxes has advised. Contact eBay through a message on facebook. You should receive a quick response... the Reps who answer are clear and concise in their emails and will even escalate your problem to a higher-up, if you need/request it.

You need to get them back on Page 1... somehow let them know to 'forget about' the tribal ID (that you sent in on the fly) and point them toward the state ID that you added later... a 'do-over', of sorts.

This one rests squarely on eBay, in my opinion... and you seem level-headed enough to present your issue. Take a breath and take some time to fashion a factual message. If the first response you receive doesn't suit you, ask that your request be sent to the proper decision-maker... in whatever department that is.

Good luck in your efforts... and check back in, please. I truly think you'll be able to make them see this clearly.

Re: Ebay refusing to release my payouts

If they say you are a risk, and won't reinstate your account, be prepared to wait from 4 to 6 months for eBay to send your money to your state's unclaimed property division.  You might look into how to claim it from there.

It's clearly discrimination.

If it were me, I'd be done messing around with eBay.

I would contact the US Department of Justice, Civil Rights Division

Ancestry discrimination falls under protections for language / national origin.

Good luck to you.

Re: Ebay refusing to release my payouts

You're dealing with corrupted money hungry crooks, they're too rich and powerful that they can make up any story on you they want and take your money. During the pandemic they allowed certain sellers to price gouge front line workers and get rich off them on PPE while removing the little people even if the little people sold PPE  at reasonable price, breaking the law for over an year and no one did a **bleep** thing, just that part alone paints the entire picture of this evil empire. You re wasting your time, either get a lawyer or count your losses and get off this evil disgusting platform

Re: Ebay refusing to release my payouts

Hi write what ever country you are in check the law/ebay cant do it under theft of money your duley owed. Also if they have taken a fee they you pay them for a service. if you have proof it was sent to ebay to pay you then if my intellect serves well they in fact commiting fraud/theft of funds not owned by them. here is something to learn ebay!

IN COURT IF YOU SHOW YOU WERE OWED THAT MONEY EBAY HAS TO RELEASE IF YOUR ACCOUNT HAS STAYED AS WAS SINCE DAY ONE AS YOU VERFIED YOUR ACCOUNT THEN! THIS MEANS they were not in descresion when they got paid by paypal...so no issues..in short its B?S and can end up with ID theft which i want a copy of ebays insurance policey on that under freedom of information act.and a contract they wont sell your ass off to google nice colours ebay like google qwerty and mmmm...

The sweetist part. Small claims courts allow certain fees under a public law to summons those nice people at a public copurt to prove there case for a small fee of £50 like a guy say you wentt to a shop gota dodgy item/ he wont refund you. double check as certain laws change according to country.

Ebay also may need to look at the tax they charge people in certain countries esp THE US IN AND OUT"DOES THE TAX OFFICE SEE THOSE AND GET PAID" UK DIDNT LOL, UNTIL A FEW YEARS AGO

wE pay BUT DO THEY claim commision on that ASWELL IBET THEY HAVE DONE? before its passed to DUTY offices as i think thats a issue or interest for the US UK AND EU and everywhere tbh

Ebay and paypal have played the tune for too long.AS FOR YOUR FUNDS.LISTEN AND LISTEN WELL THEY DONT GIVE A **bleep**. THEY GAIN MILLIONS EACH DAY ON YOUR ££££ NOT IN YOUR BANK. THEY WANT THE ID FOR SELLINGS ASSESTS as they have no way now of making more money for that fat cats weekends parties. 7.1 tax evasion in the uk then x partners paypal the same/ i near forgot the fact investigations into unlawfull transactions allowed on peoples accounts incl mine so now its blocked fully and kept on a tight leash.

Who do you claim when your number bank addy and passports up for sale.Im closing the account.they even tried the Bull s saying VPNSs can effect it as they cant track that why most have a mobile to verify but thats not enough they want DNA to buy a kin paparclip lmao

.best way cash delivery/face book or a cheap web page....vinted guntree and depends where you are facebook and whatever else. ebay has taken the **bleep** for too long bring down the house!!!!!!

free 30 mins with a lawyer. do cash on collection. get web page, more dont comply the sooner they will crawl. Ebay is only as powerfull as people allow sooner someone comes up with another site and guntree have alot being invested woohoooo the sooner the better.rule of thumb is DONT GIVE ID UNLESS THEY HAVE A LEGAL POLICEY IF ITS SNATCHED YOU GET MILLIONS FOR IF iD THEFT.....DTF..im done with them...a week for 1400 quid they took there commision so they had it that afternoon..i told them they had a few days or il go legal under my country,s law or would **bleep** them off by returning the funds for return of my items under trading standards.

it makes me sick the way we are treated....what next my kids DNA, school, house number what times fkin dinner!.....THEY ARE UNREAL if you asked them to prove **bleep** they are you would be a perv or murderer but thats ok....CLOSE EBAY CRASH IT AND BRING DOWN THE HOUSE I SAY..sick people and buy a call center for each country

Thank you for the tag @pikabo-icu. We're not able to review or give account specific information for payments on this public forum, unfortunately.

In general, to have an eBay account we do require that we're able to verify the information on that account, otherwise we may not be able to reinstate the account  if it has been restricted/suspended (information here).  @mega_valuez if you have additional questions about the status of your account, please request contact from a payments-trained teammate by going here  and selecting one of the available contact options.
