ebay is using artificial intellegence to scan sellers listings for policy violations. it is suspending all new listings falsely claiming I am trying to make sales with buyers outside ebay. I have been a seller for 25 years on ebay. I have been relisting many of my same listings over and over every month for years and there has never been a problem before.
These AI Robots have to go!!!! They are screwing up all my listings and causing a lot of problems.

In the past eBay would use automation to detect POTENTIAL policy violations - but then have a human who was trained in the rules review the listing to make a determination. Now, apparently the human review is gone. I have had multiple listings REMOVED because they were in violation of the "Contact Information Sharing Policy". But there was nothing even remotely close to such info in the listing. The first time I called to have the problem resolved - everyone at eBay that reviewed the listing agreed - there was no violation. And yet - 6 weeks later - they haven't been able to resolve it. TODAY... two more listing removed - same issue. I called, and instead of a common sense reply of "yes, there is no violation, these should not have been flagged OR removed. This is the response I got. "The listings DON'T VIOLATE an eBay POLICY - THEY JUST ARE NOT ALLOWED TO BE LISTED ON eBay AT ALL". I said -that sounds like double-speak - why aren't they allowed, if they don't violate any policies about things that can't be listed on eBay? They DON'T KNOW - but the AI program removed them - so there must be a problem! They now have 3 people working on it - and are escalating it! They'll get back to me - but don't know when, because they don't know what the problem is. When I mentioned that this particular antique document was no different than the TENS OF THOUSANDS of documents JUST LIKE IT that I have listed over the last 27 years - they again referenced that - if it was removed, then is wasn't allowed. And there you have it. When AI TAKES THE PLACE of trained humans - and the humans IN CHARGE - no longer are able to critically think for themselves - we are all in trouble. How long until you no longer can even TALK to that human - and you're talking to AI - which will reference it's own circular logic?
The BEST PART about my call today? .... they said NO ONE ELSE HAD EVER REPORTED A PROBLEM LIKE THIS! So I thought I'd scan the community boards... I guess that support people don't read the boards? Might be better than learning how to say "our AI program said it's so"...

7 months later and OP is still showing the TRS badge in their listings, when they are not one.

It’s just me, I’m probably being overly cautious. I’m not trying to avoid shipping to actual USPS boxes, but rather the boxes people rent in strip malls, unfortunately the opt out feature does not distinguish between USPS and strip-mall post boxes. Not that what I’ve got listed right now is particularly valuable, in the past I have listed some pretty high value electronics and by excluding PO Boxes I’ve weeded out some potential scammers. But honestly, if I were in the business of earning a living selling on eBay I’d be rethinking a lot of my seller strategies and do a better risk benefit analysis. I also spent over a decade working in online retail fraud prevention, which has given me a different take on things.

We just got hit with this "Policy Violation" on one of our comic auctions: there is literally NOTHING in the text of the description (which is a standard template we use on all our auctions- usually over 1000 up at a time) that falls under the "Offering to Buy Or Sell Outside of EBay" thing we were flagged for. We put in an appeal, because we legit cannot figure out what the heck flagged the listing- there's no email, phone number, website link, nothing. We also have a strict policy of never ending auctions early or selling via the messaging system, and if they scanned any of our messages, they'd see we have told multiple customers this policy. Maybe because we said "If you have any questions, please let me know"??? That's been in all our auction descriptions since we started selling in 2018. Completely baffled here.
Here is the text in question:
"Death of Doctor Strange Bloodstone #1- CVR B Maria Wolf Variant, 2022 VF/NM!"
"Up for sale is a copy of "Death of Doctor Strange: Bloodstone" #1 first print. Written by Tini Howard, with art by Ig Guara! This is the Cover B variant by Maria Wolf. The issue dates from 2022.
