Ebay is a great place.................................for selling your stuff dirt cheap and then getting ripped off by high and usury seller fees.  And Ebay buyers are so **bleep**in' cheap, they would not buy a dollar bill for 50 cents. And the US Post Office keeps jacking up their postage rates and S&H costs every month.  Someone should report these crooks to the FCC and get this website closed for good.

Couple of questions for you:

1. The definition of "usury" involves interest rates. Is eBay charging you interest on something?
2. Why would the Federal Communications Commission be involved with the regulation of eBay?

Mike, if you are struggling to make sales, it is not surprising. There is little salesmanship present.

Took a look at your feedback and listings. There are profane remarks, complaints and accusations about eBay and other circumstances. This completely overshadows your items.

It appears most of your effort has gone to angry diatribes and name-calling, which is a poor reflection on you as both a seller and community member. Sales cannot flourish in such an environment.

It makes no sense for someone this unhappy with the platform to continue using it. Ebay can be challenging to sell on under the best of circumstances. Maybe it is time to move on to greener pastures. Best of luck to you.

Two thoughts...

First, maybe your items don't have the value you believe they have.  I can't tell you how many times I've made offers on items on eBay that are outrageously priced.  Without getting into specifics, regular items I purchase on eBay that I regularly pay about $10 each (including shipping) for, I can't tell you how many sellers I see who have similar products priced in the $20-$50 price range and they never sell, they've been listed for years and if I email a seller asking about an offer, there is no wavering from their high pricing.  It's basic supply/demand.  Just because you think your items are worth X dollars doesn't mean that's what the market is willing to pay for them.  They're "worth" is what someone else is willing to pay you for it, not what you think it should be worth.

Second, you already know what the fees are to sell on eBay.  There are no surprise fees, you know what it'll cost to sell something before you decide to sell something.  So you can't complain about the fees if you know what they are going into it.  You don't have to sell them here.  But if you choose to, you choose to accept what the fees are to sell here.  You may not like it, but no one is holding a gun to your head and forcing you to use eBay...

You sound angry, is there a dollar figure that you feel ripped off on?  You also left PayPal fees out of your rant, are they ripping you off too? There are auction sites where for a one time fee you will never have to pay a listing fee or FVF again. Very stress free listings, you never make a sale, and never have to worry about revenue, profit, or fees, because they don't happen.

Even if you were to report eBay to the proper regulatory body, they would not shut down an ecommerce website just because someone doesn't like the fee structure.  That's one of the great things about america. 

As to your larger point ... eBay is indeed a great place for selling your stuff dirt cheap if that is how you choose to price it. 

It is also a great place for selling good stuff at good prices, a great place for selling stuff at great prices, and a great place for listing undesirable stuff that will not sell at all (if that is what you choose to list).

Yeah, I don't think that will accomplish what you think it will.

Just like if someone reports sellers who leave profane feedback for buyers, it probably will not work out to your benefit either.

Your selling history does not appear to be particularly customer-service oriented.  When control issues override any form of salesmanship, maybe selling stuff is not one of your strong suits, no matter the venue?

I agree, ebay is practically a dollar store now. Prices for a lot of things are down the tubes because of the enormous glut of products and competition among sellers. The less people buy, the lower prices typically fall, but this doesn't mean you can't make money.

What you should be more concerned about is the way you treat your customers. Don't be so defensive when someone is upset. Take care of your customers! Just looking at the first page of your feedback I saw 4 negatives, including one where you mouthed off at the buyer, and another claiming you didn't pay proper postage. That's terrible service.

As for slow sales, if you want to make money you have to put in the effort. I have over 1,200 listings right now, not a walk in the park to do that. I work hard for what I want in life, and you should do the same.

Maybe try testing out new products, look to see what your competitors are doing, and make a solid effort. Just be open-minded and don't let a few bad apples ruin your day.

eBay loves it when stuff sells really, really cheap because they take a higher % of fees. If you sell anything for $ 1.00 and it costs $ 4.00 to ship, your net sales is 5 cents.

The buyer pays $ 5.00 for it (including S&H),  the Post Office gets $ 4.00, eBay get 50 cents, PayPal gets  45 cents. Leaving the seller with 5 cents.  Ebay and Paypal are total crooks.

No **bleep**. Ebay charges up to 20% and even higher final value fees and they keep jacking them up every year. And you don't think 20% is usury.
