I recently found eBay is including sales taxes in the 60-day total on the My eBay Selling Overview page.
After selling a $20 item (free shipping), my 60-day sales total increased by more than $20. The extra amount exactly matches the sales tax rate for a $20 purchase in the buyer's state.
Is there some place where eBay shows a breakdown of the amounts included in the 60-day total? If not, how do sellers make use of the 60-day sales total when it might include amounts the seller does not see?

In seller hub, there is message under a sale that has sales tax
eBay note: This total includes tax that eBay is required to collect from your buyer. You can view the amount paid to you in the sales record. Learn m
That said, I agree it ought to be shown as a separate column........and the sale price should be "pure"

Good grief. Money we didn't collect, never had in our possession, complicating our taxes.

You shouldn't be using those numbers for taxes. Ebay and Paypal have specific reports that you should be obtaining to use for taxes. The 60-day sales total is just eye-candy and shouldn't be used for any financial purpose.

Well, they do also include the shipping in those totals. But at least the buyer seller (oopsie) is PAID the shipping.

I'm glad you posted this observation. I was wondering why there was such a big difference between my eBay sales total and my PayPal account balance. It looked like I was missing 9-10% instead of about 3+% that PayPal collects. The Sales Tax in the eBay total is the reason. You might note that PayPal collect their 2.9% on the sale tax. They charge 2.9% on the total which includes sales price, shipping and sales tax plus $0.30 per item.
