Ebay has allowed us to be DEFRAUDED 4 times in the last 30 days - each time protecting the SCAMMER!

It is sad what Ebay has become, we are a seller of 18 years with 100% feedback over 2000+ reviews, and it seems blatantly obvious that instead of looking out for our best interest, Ebay is more concerned with protecting FRAUDSTERS and SCAMMERS!

In the past 30 days on now 4 different occasions, a buy with an Ebay account opened less than a month has purchased out Hot Tub Supplies.  Once the item was receieved, the SCAMMER made FRADULENT CLAIMS to open a RETURN.  Once the return was in fact approved, the SCAMMER returned WORTHLESS JUNK, one time was a PIECE OF PAPER another time was PIECES OF PLASTICS.

Each time we received these items, we photographed everything, pictures of the unopened return showing the return tracking # and then pictures of us opening the item and then pictures of the contents.

Now in 2 of the 4 cases Ebay has denied our reimbursement claims because "somehow" we didn't prove that the "PIECE OF PAPER" sent to us, was not a hot tub product and we did not prove that it was sent by a SCAMMER.

At this point, we will have no choice but after 18 YEARS we will be REMOVING OUR PRODUCTS from Ebay.  WHAT A TOTAL SHAME!!!

And that is my problem with everything about the "seller always getting screwed", there will always be a "sometimes" in every situation but rules can't be made for the exception and that is the new norm now.

It is not OK for 100 legitimate sellers to get screwed bc of the fear that 2 innocent buyers get screwed. It is only ok the seller gets ripped off on internet transactions? I don't get the rational personally.

Right.  Buyers have been known to not tell the truth sometimes.

Shocking, I know.  🤣

YES.  You are correct.  MOST buyers do tell the truth just as Most sellers tell the truth.  The vast majority of transaction go off without a hitch on the site.

How about when they do tell the truth and it's both irksome and hilarious?

In the real world of honest people, by allowing criminals to rip sellers off you have a choice to agree with fair and honest sellers or side with thieves.

It's not forced upon you, it's your choice, decide who you stand with?

You speak truth, eBay has gone wookadodle.

The people you talk on the phone are mostly so dumb that if it was not for a list of answers they would go mute.

Fairness, honesty, integrity are not longer foremost in ebays policy.

They attack sellers because we are available, placating dishonest buyers, FOR What?

Lazy, lazy, lazy, is you are young and stupid you are ebays new client.

Sad, I helped eBay as one of the first sellers, and now I am rewarded with mistrust and bias.

@vintagetime

How is Ebay suppose to know who is the one being honest?  What about when it is the buyer being honest and not the seller?

Why do I have to be for one group and against the other?  I can't do that and be an active seller on the site.

While you may believe that sellers always tell the truth and are in the right all the time, I know that isn't true.

Worse than that reality and all the other concerns, is that eBay LIES.  Poor processes, decisions and support are one thing, but when you can possibly get through, they lie to you: 'we don't do that, we block buyers who abuse, we support our sellers, I understand your concerns, I'm escalating this case, don't worry sir - we see your concerns and will manually override the decision'.....all just to get you off the phone, after which they deny you anyway.

Squirrely company.

@gurlcat

Almost spit out my coffee.  Hilarious.

I guess "vintage" is in the eye of the beholder.

I also wonder about that Confucius citation... 😉

But most importantly:  I commend you and bow to you in the deepest respect for accepting those hideous and financially debilitating "remorse returns"!   😂

Best observation yet.

The only downside is that eBay stands to lose money in such a calculation.

eBay is merely a product of the internet -- a place where EVERYTHING is transactional and where the lines between good and bad, right and wrong, and truth and fiction have become so blurred as to have collapsed entirely.

I came of age in the 1960s, and I consider myself blessed to have had that opportunity.

Meantime (and sorry to sound like a broken record), I highly recommend reading and re-reading and reading again Section 4 (pasted below) of the eBay user agreement.

It explains everything you need to know about selling here.

If your main mission is to make millions for you and your shareholders, it is indeed a well-founded system.

FWIW, my philosophy losing money here:

Whether because of a thieving miscreant, a moron in the employ of eBay, or some other injustice, I will not give it a second thought because I have made a small fortune selling here.   I am insulated -- psychologically and otherwise -- from a periodic loss.  In my opinion its a mindset worth cultivating because you have no other option.

What about credibility earned through years of proven honesty???

How about the 25 years I've sold on eBay?

The truth is that eBay sees Amazon and Walmart with unlimited returns as the model to aspire to.

Screw the small independent sellers and bend over to large businesses who sell millions of idiot widgets.

The foundations that eBay began on is being demolished by that.
