I just had something weird happen. (or did I screw up?)
I listed an auction with a best offer option.
The last time I had this done, The offer was sent to me to accept or reject it (or ignored it).
I never checked the box to auto accept offers at a certain price.
This was the email I received at 10:53PM.
You’ve received an offer for ....... Hurry, this offer will expire when your listing ends: Sep-23 19:53:50 PDT.
The offer was for $5.00
The original auction listing price was $8.00
I never accepted the offer as I was asleep.
Then this is the next email I received:
Great news, your item sold. We’ll tell you when the buyer pays
The buyer hasn’t paid yet, so hold onto the item until you receive payment. We’ll send your buyer a reminder within 48 hours.
Sale Price: $5.00
How did this happen if I never accepted the offer?
Thanks.

This is the auction.
My auction page states the winning bid is $8
However the invoice that ebay auto sent is $5

Would ebay have to check this to see if I did an auto accept? I know I didn't.

You didn’t accept an offer. It was an auction that ended with 1 $8 bid. Are you sure eBay sent a $5 invoice?
