Ebay Switching from PayPal to Direct Payments using Bank Accounts?? RIDICULOUS!!!!

OK, Is this for real? Ebay seems to be ditching Paypal for sellers and wanting to use my Bank Account to manage payments. Ebay wants my Bank Account information???  Forget IT Ebay!!! I am NOT (repeat NOT) giving you my Bank account info to manage my payments!!   I have been perfectly happy with payments being made thru Paypal over the years and if ebay cannot continue this then I will move to another platform.  

Please respond if you are in agreement!

eBay is still a good place to buy and accepts Paypal.

I am also done with eBay(and for my own reasons) and have been selling elsewhere (& where I can still accept PayPal as payment, plus the FVFs are about 1/3 of those here on eBay)...

No I don't get a lot of sales on my other site, but sales have been increasing there so I am hopeful..

I agree, I'm fairly happy with using PayPal. I'm not a big commercial seller! I sell 20 to 50 things a year and I like that those sales are easily kept separate from the rest of my life. I have no plan to give my account numbers to eBay and I see no reason to open another account to feel comfortable about doing it! I guess I will just find another way to sell! Maybe eBay should give the option to move to their new payment platform or not! Then over time they could show me why it is a better way to get paid! Personally I feel that no matter I will be paying and eBay is not trying to save me money, on the contrary, I expect I will be paying the same!

There is no reason Ebay needs your bank user name and password to transfer funds. All they need is a routing number to electronically transfer funds. And Ebay should offer sellers choices as to how they want paid. Access to a personal bank account makes me nervous, as they can access your account for any reason

Exactly! - I contacted eBay's  customer support directly and asked them to tell their policy maker's about my unwillingness to give them bank account information.  I'm hoping if enough people do this that the message will get through to their upper management.

It will be interesting to see how many sellers or buyers are going to leave ebay because of the changes. Ebay got rid of the beloved My Ebay Classic page. The classic my ebay page was the best because most everything was on one page- selling or auctions, sold items, unsold items and icons for stuff like feedback has been left for you or you left feedback for someone. 

Sellers or buyers not happy with paypal no longer receiving payments. They don't want to use their bank accounts for that.

I cancelled my items on ebay. I am going to wait and see what the aftermath is going to be. Maybe if enough sellers or buyers leave ebay. They might go back to accepting payments with paypal. I would love to have the My Classic Ebay page to comeback.

After 22 years on Ebay.... I will be leaving and no longer selling here. 

I will not provide my SSN or Bank information. This is a huge overreach for Ebay and I will find another place to sell. I am a personal collector and not a business. I prefer Paypal and have been upset with Ebay as they have increasing imposed policy that is more against the sellers. 

Sad day for Ebay..... time to call it quits...

I doubt it .....   Ebay is a business and the restructuring of the payments will help them get their money faster and on their schedule.  In this new system Ebay said they will pay you once they are paid and deduct your fees before sending you your cut...  So no more waiting for Ebay to get paid ... Right now they collect monthly.. going forward they will get their cut right away......

I'm out..... no more Ebay if they force me to provide too much personal information.

I'm not a business... I've been here for 22 years..... (since 1999) and they are going to force me to provide SSN .... bank account wouldn't be an issue as I have a "play" bank account which I tie my paypal to but I'm not providing my SSN to Ebay.... sorry....
