Ebay Switching from PayPal to Direct Payments using Bank Accounts?? RIDICULOUS!!!!

OK, Is this for real? Ebay seems to be ditching Paypal for sellers and wanting to use my Bank Account to manage payments. Ebay wants my Bank Account information???  Forget IT Ebay!!! I am NOT (repeat NOT) giving you my Bank account info to manage my payments!!   I have been perfectly happy with payments being made thru Paypal over the years and if ebay cannot continue this then I will move to another platform.

I fought manage payments, tooth and nail, up to the last minute.... I went into it kicking and screaming every step of the way. But now that it has been in place for me for a few weeks, it is not the Frankenstein's monster I thought it would be. I enjoy having the *automatic* features of it. The only thing I wish eBay would get ironed out is there real time shipping expenses. Though they maintain that their shipping meter is right in sink with USPS, etc., I would beg to differ. I seem to be getting taken to the cleaners a bit in that area. 😒I just make my smaller/less weighty item listings with free shipping. Problem solved there.

YOU personally may not have been messaged by eBay until more recently but eBay DID post the announcement about MP nearly 3 years ago and it is the seller's responsibility to read and stay informed about all things eBay:

I'm with you on this... I keep trying to cancel accounts but have to wait another 30 days and another 60 days because I bought something?  LOL  well no more buying for me.  No complaints here.. I'm already selling elsewhere and much better than 3% of my listings  LOL  Good Luck to eBay... Sad to have to quit buying too, but I just can't bring myself to spending money here with people that are yelling at me.. "You've known about the change for a long time so leave already.. so I am and I'm taking my buying $ with me.. To gripe at sellers leaving is like kicking yourself in the teeth.  But like you say to me.. get lost.  So I am.

Checking accounts at my banks are $7 a month unless you maintain a $5k balance... and I'm not going to do that just to appease eBay.. phooey with it.  I'll just be spending more at Wally World.

eBay has been talking about this for sometime now.

Actually we initially were not very happy with this Managed Payments program.

We waited till the last to get started.

We have been in the Managed Payment program now for several months......and honestly it is not that bad.

One of the good things is that there is not that “Big Payment” due in eBay fees at the end of the month as the new program takes the FVF right off the top of the payment received by your buyers.

You would have had to pay these fees anyway at the end of the month in one big lump.

The only thing I would say is just keep watch that the fees taken are in line and correct.

Change is hard sometimes and I think that is what is making everybody feel uneasy about this new program.

We had PayPal for so long, we got used to it.

Well, like it or not.......here we are!!!

So far, so good with this new program.
