@saulovermansurvival

and....there is the part where you don't even know if you will be able to keep that "slow"  money either.

Some days it seems like it's arriving by pony express.

And of course, you never really know how much of that wired money you will get to keep.

Reality check:

   SLOWER? Really?

   I've been selling here for over 23 years. In days past, even on eBay, "...when people sent money order in the snail mail", as you say, I was lucky to get paid and have the funds cleared and available in my bank account in one to two weeks! And that involved my driving to the bank sometimes daily, standing in line to make the deposit, and hoping that the money order was not fraudulent, or the personal check was actually good.

   If your business model can't handle as little as a 2-3 business day delay to get your payment into your checking account without you having to lift a finger or get into your car to make a deposit in person, then perhaps online selling is not for you.

   You adjusted your life to your employer not paying you for a week or two, or maybe even a month or more, didn't you? You adjusted your life to it because you had no choice. It's the same here with eBay. It's eBay's sandbox, and they make the rules if you wish to sell here. A 2-3 business day delay is also pretty much a payment industry standard across the board, whether sales are online, or as the owner of a B&M store.

   It's not necessary to exaggerate or get your knickers in a twist because you want what you want NOW. Take a deep breath, get a grip and accept some perspective. Your business model can easily adjust and handle this trivial change, just as the vast majority of successful eBay sellers already have.

Cheers, Duffy

@duffy4444

Actually, I would gladly wait 2 weeks if my payment was a 'final sale' and not subject to some phony SNAD reversal five months out.  For those that are complaining of the "delay" Adyen does have the means to speed things up.  I am sure eBay will eventually offer it, for a fee of course.

Don't care.  I actually like how this works and no invoice at the end of the month.  Am I "thrilled" with all aspects?  No....but overall, I like it better.

I hated the back and forth with Paypal and e-Bay invoices if there was an issue, prefer it be streamlined.  And I am an old seller who hated money orders and paper checks and used to have a lady mail me cash and want me to mail back her change, like I was the paper boy.  I was thrilled to take Paypal and not have to wait around on a payment to show up.

Ymmv -  It is what it is - no other choice currently if riding the e-Bay train.

It might take a couple days to receive the funds, but it still spends the same way.

Have a great day.

I don't need to think about it, because my payouts come as scheduled and my business model does not revolve around a "hand-to-mouth" existence.

And one of the aspects I like best is that all my fees and shipping come out of mypending payouts, so I know that what goes in my bank account is mine. I no longer have to constantly subtract my eBay invoice balance from my PayPal balance to know where I stand.

eBay MP

My buyer pays on Sunday.

Payment complete on Monday.

Payout on Tuesday.

In my CU checking on Wednesday.

------------

Snail mail.

Listing ends on Sunday.

Tuesday/Wednesday the buyer gets to the Post Office to purchase a USPS money order.

Maybe they send it out that day, maybe they don't.

Money order gets to me on Saturday, or so.

Monday or Tuesday I can get to the Post Office to cash it. (if the office has any cash)

MP works better for me than the days of snail mail.
