Ebay Sales completely stopped in last 2 months October 2022

Hello, I have been on ebay for 20 years selling off and on. I opened my ebay stores in 2013 and have been having great sales until the last 2 1/2 years. Sales have been declining slowly and steady for the last year and a half. 2021 and 2022 have been horrible nothing but a downward spiral..

I have done updating, relisting, sell similar, new listings, new pics, updated coded listings, added promo, having sales 10%-15% off. new titles Nothing is giving. 

I know my listings are not being found on the search results. I'm pretty much ghosted even though i can see them myself. No page impressions.. Not to mention china sellers are always at the top of the search results because of multiple never ending new accounts from the  same seller and low prices.

This is it I'm calling it quits as the business has dwindled to $100 dollar weeks. 

I sell industrial filtering media so the demand will be there. I keep reading how online shopping  is down all around ebay, posh, mercari etc. This is an ebay issue.  Looks like they are weeding out sellers quickly.

ebay sent me a message to try the new beta marketing campaign $500 off **bleep**! to get listings at the top of search results. 

Anybody having a similar experience, I would like to hear from you.

I'm new to reselling. And I have seen drastic changes this month. Most of my sales are coming from mercari this month. Good thing i decided to learn 2 platforms at once.  I know most sellers are against cross listing. But if ebay ain't giving me traffic or sales then what gives?

And I know I still have alot to learn. Having 2 months under my belt.  But my guess ebay is breaking at the moment for some sellers.

with the new listing tool being out or in beta, iv been reading about, so some sellers might be out of commission for couple days or weeks, just dont give up and keep your heads up times are rough and mistakes are made. but have faith ebay will get it right again.

I closed my store about 2 months ago after selling for many years. I have left my remaining items on Mercari just because it is easy to post on there and I do not have much left.  Ebay has became to expensive with so little return.  I find myself with so much more time now and feel so much more relaxed. No more getting up early on the weekends running around trying to find product. No more redoing ads and changing prices and blah blah blah.   Not to mention getting all the space back in my house.          Ebay has made selling on its platform so miserable that it has turned me off from reselling, I really enjoyed it at one time and was all in.   I don't even shop on Ebay anyone because the search function sucks.    I can see from the many post here and in other places that things have not got any better selling on Ebay.   People want to say its the economy and that is somewhat true yet the roads are more packed than ever (with the high gas prices), Disney is reaching maximum capacity for guest even with raising prices again and people are still traveling in high numbers.  Ebay sucks and could care less about the everyday seller.

I just realized with the new listing template Ebay reversed my international settings,  the 2 countries I excluded now show as the only 2 countries I ship to.

What they need to do is so simple and they keep making to more confusing.

I 100% share your sentiments. I started selling in 2002 and up until last year my sales were increasing every month. Since the middle of 2021 there has been a constant decline in sales to the point I am lucky to do one sale a month. I am certainly looking for alternatives which is a shame as eBay was doing so well for us. I am approaching a point where I have to make a decision as our store subscription renews in February. Till then i am plugging away and hoping for improvement. Not encouraging in any way!

It looks to me like Ebay inverted my international shipping settings so the 2 countries I don't ship to are the only ones showing that I do.  I'm not stupid and this remains stupidly confusing.  I'm just about ready to give up.    I've never felt so discouraged.  It makes sense, the new template was inflicted on us at the same time the sales died, especialy intl.  I can't even really tell what is in place the switches are so contradictory.

Yes, I have contacted eBay multiple times because my listings are not showing up where they should  ( I have provided proof and examples), which has significantly and negatively affected my business. When I enter basic info into the search bar with the appropriate filters, I am not seeing all of the listings that should be included. I have even had eBay customer service reps confirm this, and promise to fix the problems, but to date, it has not been resolved.

Not sure what the update was on October 20th but my sales ceased to exist after this update. Promoted and Listing Impressions were ZERO for 2 days, eBay cannot deny something is wrong. To the poster above, thanks for the Mercari mention, going to try it out.

I have been on ebay since 2011, mainly sell clothing and shoes. My sales are slower than usual but not that bad. What I see is, the items you find in Amazon or other website, don 't see in ebay, so people go some where else to shop, forget about ebay. Also, the search results do not find the item you are looking for unless you use the exact words.

Oh yeah. Amazon is killing small sellers. Unless you have a huge inventory of one or two items and sell in bulk we're shot. USPS raised shipping rates again.

Start a new account. I did and sales kicked in. 3 in one day, right away. Ebay want to impress you with "See how good our platform is..." kinda thing so then you buy all the bells and whistles and maybe open a Store. I will tell you from experience, dont waste your money on the extras. I NEVER had any better sales. I still sold roughly about the same number of items per month. and then the new account will slow down just like the big one. It may take a while, but it will happen. I know first hand.  My big account is dead in the water most times, selling like one item every 2 weeks. I dont really sell on this account anymore. I think at a certain point your Ebay account in like a ailing car engine. It kinda works, but breaks down constantly. It's sad that you have to play Chess with Ebay and find the loophole to be seen in searches but I can't drive my self crazy worrying about it anymore. You would think they could see a seller had been with them for 17 years and abides by the rules and gives amazing service, but nope they don't care.  I used to get upset at how incompetent the company is, but it is not good for mental health. I empathize with people who do this for a living. Luckily I do this part time. On a side note I have noticed a trend over the past couple years especially, alot of resellers are wanting to buy your stuff and flip off your back. So of course they want a really cheap price. That can contribute to slow sales because you have your stuff priced for customers who really want to own/use the item.

It all started on Sept 26th with the glitch that "reset" many, many long-time sellers profiles to that of newbies....myself being one.  I have tried for weeks to get an answer....CS reps are clueless and a complete waste of time.  They knocked me down to minimal listings allowed and minimal amount I am "allowed" to make each month....the actual decent rep in the "Limits" department let the cat out of the bag they do this (like we didn't know).  She reinstated to her highest level of authority so I can at least list items now (they were being rejected as over the limit allowed).  I am convinced this glitch is somehow connected to the AI assigned to your account and search, etc. as I am experiencing exactly what everyone is experiencing.....ZERO to nil sales.....like they jumped off a cliff.  All started on Sept 26th.  To say this is a disaster is a massive understatement.  They are going to put me out of business due to their imcompetence in whatever they did and have not remedied.  And....I get the pleasure of still paying the monthly fee as a reminder.  Not good.

Agree in the exact same boat, this is coming to a point where ebay should prorate fees, they caused this and haven't fixed it. its going to put many out of business.
