Ebay Sales Slow June 2019

I have been selling on Ebay for 15 years now, and am shocked at the recent down-turn in sales.  Ebay sales have been struggling for a while now but they have now got so bad that it will soon not be worth having an Ebay shop anymore.  Our listings are appearing towards the bottom of searches so buyers are no longer seeing them. 

We have tried the Sponsored Search method but this has made little difference. 

I am scratching my head as to what to do next!  Can anyone offer any useful suggestions please?

Sales still the pits and it is late August now.

I did do some one-time sale of merchandise to raise some cash but my primary product has largely died.

No sales for the past couple of years.

I am just ditching my inventory, I am over it!

After they profited off of us for years on end, at least they can do is give of an honest answer as to what transpired! In fact they should've gave us a warning!

I have an idea as to what transpired, one world GREED!

Yep, cut your losses and make every effort not to give eBay another cent! Baffles me that I see people still investing with little sales to show...like one day they're going to turn the green light back on, it's been near 3 years since the decline...

Ebay has fewer customers and too many sellers, sales are flat or down for more than a four quarters.

If you give them money for sponsorship adds, well that is how eBay's earnings keep going up with flat to negative sales growth, they should thank you since flat sales and growing rev is hard to sustain.

Very slimy unethical company IMO/experience, (have a group of accounts but could never see Ebay as a stable enough platform to keep a store more than a couple months, the bundle's for store were strictly designed to get more money for eBay, oh ya and maybe help the seller), luckily there are many other options in this market.

Their search engine sucks. When you look up something specific, you get tons of things not even related or in the title etc. Most people probably give up. 
And then as a seller, you try to get pricing of what things are selling for and now you have to wade thru a bunch of sponsored listings that are not in price order.

For the past ten years I have done all my Xmas shopping on EBay 

and usually spend around $400.  This year I did not spend a dime

onEbay.

 I have noticed there are no longer good deals on Ebay & everything

is overpriced. 

EVERYTHING has been cheaper or the same price on Amazon, so 

Ebay is no longer 

  Now that Ebay charges

tax on every single item, whether it is new or used, I have gone back to Amazon 

and Walmart.  

If your going to pay the same price, or even less than Ebay and be

guaranteed you are getting something new and not sitting 

in someone’s old garage, then it makes sense to shop with the

big guys.  Sorry to say Ebay is dead, and you greedy sellers are

going to be out of business for overpricing your junk!

You guys got greedy and shot yourselves in the foot!

Although some sellers are to blame (Amazon drop-shippers, bait and switch scammers), most of the price increases have come as a result of eBay increasing fees on sellers substantially in 2019. 

Sellers are also currently dealing with high levels of buyer fraud which has driven up the cost of doing business on eBay substantially. 

Many of us have low prices, but you'll have a hard time finding our items as eBay mostly shows the products from sellers who pay them the most, hence this is why you are seeing so many overpriced items. 

Most professional eBay sellers also sell on every other marketplace, so there's a good chance you're buying it from the same seller on a different marketplace but you don't know it.

Several weeks ago I sat in stopped traffic eventually learning a bad crash occurred. 20 minutes into the stall I figured ok, anytime now the wreck will clear and will start moving. 2.5 hours later and still not moving and still thinking..any minute now...

Sound familiar?

I eventually turned around and went a different route. My patience and frustration levels went away. Sure it was a longer drive but..I was driving.
