EBay incorrectly flagged me as a drop-shipper

EBay has flagged me as a drop-shipper, even though I own all of my items and every item has been mailed from my home office (same address), except the first.

My first sale was a drop ship in March 2021, but then I was told drop shipping is not allowed. So I deleted the listings and got my own inventory. I have been told by 2 reps that I am flagged as a drop-shipper and by all the other reps that I am not. I should be Top Rated, but I keep getting Above Standard. Also Ebay will not increase my seller listings above 470 items.

I have tried to work with EBay Contact, but nothing ever changes. They promise to help, but nothing happens. Please, help if you can and let me know if there is anything I can do!!

Re: EBay incorrectly flagged me as a drop-shipper

I don't have experience with this issue, but sadly a lot of eBay penalties are automated. I haven't found an automated penalty that they have ever been able to remove.

I wish you the best, but just being transparent about our experience with eBay.

That is very sad, especially for the fact this has become a part of my income.

What is wrong with my pictures? Thank you for your help!!

I had thought they looked like stock photos, but another poster basically stated this is not the case.

I think we're good, sadly I also think we're all kind of fishing for the reason...

I do remove the background sometimes, but usually not. I also use stock photos, when EBay supplies them. I am hoping that does not affect me. I can’t imagine that it would. Thank You for your time!!

eBay's stock photos can affect you ... I once had a new product connected to an eBay product page (which has things like stock photos and product information), and my listing was removed for a VERO violation ... my listing did not have the photo, but the eBay product page did.

Oh well.  I just relisted without connecting the item to the product page ... after that experience, I now rarely associate items to eBay product pages.

Re: EBay incorrectly flagged me as a drop-shipper

BTW, mind yourself with that Rosetta Stone listing - they can be ruthless about reselling their product if you're not an 'authorised dealer', even if the item you are selling is your own personal item.  A bunch of us had our listings taken down by them.  If you're already struggling with the 'drop shipper' issue you don't want something else on your account right now.

I absolutely understand. Ever since they got rid of "account managers" some years back, facing problems like this is a major issue. My biggest complaint about eBay for years has been that there's nobody to help you if you face serious issues. Too many times I've heard "I'm sorry but there's no teams to assist you with this type of problem".

I've even expressed the need for actual support if you face a major issue to eBay management in person. But it doesn't seem like it accomplished anything.

We've been where you are, having penalties for things we didn't do, facing glitches that labelled our account the wrong way. It's a nightmare to have to constantly contact eBay for assistance, they always claim they'll call you back and 99% of the time don't. They escalate the issue and you never hear anything again.

And I've personally experienced it, if you actually get an agent who agrees that they see a problem and are willing to help, they will literally shut that down and prevent that agent from talking to you anymore. I posted about that on here some years back, we had an extremely helpful agent who voluntarily added themselves to our case. He would be the one person to call us at least weekly. If I called another agent, he would have them pass the phone and say he'll call me right back. He gave awesome support!

He actually told me he found something! And that on Monday he would have one of the analysts call me! We were excited, as for months we've had problems and he finally found something that could help!

Monday comes... No call. I try to call him, no reply. I had other agents say he is there and received the message, still no reply. No contact from any analyst. Then the CS Supervisor at the time lied directly to me, claiming he "spoke to someone at our business" and "explained the problem already". Meanwhile, only two of us answer the phone, and neither of us EVER spoke to him! On top of that, I actually had emails from this supervisor where he claimed THREE TIMES he was going to have someone call me back, and NONE OF THOSE TIMES did anyone call, then the supervisor himself stopped responding in email!

After posting it on here, some mods looked in to it. Then I do reach the supervisor on the phone and he tells me he's "no longer allowed to speak to me" and then every time we talked to CS, it was on a recorded line. And never to any of those agents who were helpful, and we had no supervisor to escalate things to anymore.

No idea why they would shut down supporting sellers with legit problems! But that's the eBay way!

Yea, they are on my list of companies that I will never buy a product from, they are one of a growing number of companies who think that they should  still have full control of the item that they sold you.

Re: EBay incorrectly flagged me as a drop-shipper

Yes, the EBay reps agreed I should be a top rated seller. Multiple reps said they would send my information to a “specialized” team and I would receive an email within 48-72 hours. It has been way longer than 72 hours and I have not received any response or contact from eBay.

Yes, like forever after.  They don't distinguish at all between someone reselling new Rosetta Stone products and people like myself who are selling a course they purchased for themselves that they've finished and are ready to pass along.

Rosetta Stone don't sell their products, they are licensed for use by the original user ONLY. When you break the seal you confirm your agreement to abide by the licence.
