I have a dynamic campaign.
I thought the ad rate was supposed to change every day to the suggested daily ad rate automatically.
Maybe I'm wrong on that, but before the dynamic rate always matched the daily suggested rate. Isn't that why it's dynamic? Doesn't seem to do that anymore.
Or am I misunderstanding how dynamic ads are supposed to work.
(No caps or modifiers are set)

Well I'll tell you what, I went from an average of 15% on dynamic ad rate and lowered it to 5% and my sales were not affected at all lol so take from that what you will.

This is just one listing I'm messing around with.
However, it appears that eBay is actually falsely advertising the tool.

What do you mean falsely advertising it?

It says it's supposed to automatically adjust to the daily suggested ad rate.
But you can see it my images the rate set was 16.8% and the suggested daily rate was 15.5%.
Why was my rate not automatically adjusted to match the rate ?
They advertise the tool based on what it does and it doesn't do what they claim. I consider that false advertisement.

Did you have any sales to see what they charged for that period?

I mean the suggested rate could be slow at updating. Or maybe the actual rate is slow to update when set to dynamic.
When I was using dynamic ad rate it was showing the same numbers as the suggested rate whenever I looked at it.

I sold like 10 yesterday.
But none have % deduction yet.
They were all PL, I'm guessing my priority campaign was cause.
It's quite amusing my priority campaign gets much less impressions but all the sales I guess from that.
Which shows me that general campaigns are horribly targeted.
Though that's a different discussion.
If I go into the dynamic campaign and make any changes it will update the rate. However it isn't match the daily rate automatically.

Priority campaigns get better placement than General campaigns so that might explain the sales.
Sorry I've got nothing on the dynamic rates. The only thing I could think of was a cap which you ruled out in the first post and because the issue persists it seems you can also rule out a lag / system delay.

Yeah I know the priority campaigns get the better placement. You right.
I still think it's crazy the amount more impressions and not a single sale.
I was wrong about it being frozen though.
It does update but it updates based on the day prior. So it updated to 15.5% today. When that was yesterday's rate.
A whole day of lag? That means it will never match the suggested rate unless it's the same rate two days in a row.

Hah well at least now we know where those numbers are coming from. Typical eBay, takes 24 hours to update.

Well Maybe they should change their policies pages.
"We automatically adjust to yesterday's suggested ad rate" 😂
If i go in and set a modifier to say +1% and save changes. It will set the ad rate at 14.5% which is correct.
It's like eBay has off timed when it does the change it's begore when the new daily suggested ad rate comes out. So everyday it will do it's adjustment on the wrong ad rate.

This seems like an issue where we should alert someone like devon@ebay so he can make sure the Ads team sees this - in case that's not how they're intending it to work.

Thanks maybe they can explain

Hey @wastingtime101! I will be sure to have this sent over to the Ads team for review.
