Duh...Bank Accouint Password **bleep** is wrong here?

Sorry, eBay...Just not going to be able to sell on eBay now. They are not Getting my Bank Account Password.  This is a no-brainer. eBay had been Hacked Big Time Many Times. No more sales on eBay for me.

Just make a new bank account specifically for ebay. No brainer.

Whoa! Who requested it and how? That doesn’t sound legit!

The login part is through the bank itself and shouldn't be stored by eBay. If you're concerned, you should be able to manually enter the account number and routing number.

Could be phishing. But looks like you can login to a handful of banks through eBay to grab the bank account details needed.

You can use an alternate method for bank account verification.  You don't have to give them the password unless you use the "simplified" integrated bank account verification system.  I never gave them my bank password and was able to be verified.

Thanks..

I hadn't heard of that.

I just added my bank and it said "ok" you're good..

I wonder why I didn't need any verifications etc...

Same. Funny enough, the bank name eBay (or Ayden(?)) had associated with my routing number was wrong. Probably an import error. But verified with bank it was right and went with it. 7ish months MP and no issues as of yet.

I forget what it's called. But because they have your name, address, and your SSN. Most likely Ayden or whoever sends the deposits does an ACH check with your bank to make sure things look kosher.

Is similar to if you get set up with direct deposit with the place you work at not doing micro deposits. Or the company I work for before moving to credit card only. They would do an ACH check on the account details for people that wanted to pay their policies via their checking account.

Re: Duh...Bank Accouint Password **bleep** is wrong here?

I didn't have to log in to my CU (Navy Federal), just input my routing and account number.

Scroll down to the bottom of the page and click "my bank isn't on the list" or whatever verbiage it is. Yes, mine was on the list, but I prefer to manually input. I verified with microdeposits, took about four hours start to finish for the deposits to show up and for me to verify.  Smooth as silk.

The easier you are to offend the easier you are to control.

So you had micro deposits? Interesting. Must depend on the bank or when you switched over then.

I switched around the first of November 2020

@lepke1979

Thanks I was a little worried. LOL

I had expected micro deposits or something and nope..

Just a confirmation that it was good to go.

Seemed VERY easy to me but perhaps I was lucky as some people seem to have big issues.

I had an extra account that I barely used, I've had for like 15 yrs so it was well established..

@southern*sweet*tea   Oh I have NFCU too!!  Love their credit cards & my car loan is through them as well.

It's amazing how many sellers are ready to just throw in the towel because of a misunderstanding.

I opted in during August, 2019, when they didn't  do microdeposits. I thought microdeposits were a no brainer. LOL
