Drop shipper??

A buyer recently wanted to buy my item. Here is the buyer requirement.

"PLEASE DO NOT INCLUDE ANY PACKING LIST OR INVOICE IN THE BOX AND DO NOT PUT ANY EBAY DOCUMENTS OR EBAY BOX/TAPE FOR SHIPMENT. PLEASE SHIP TODAY IF POSSIBLE. IF YOU HAVE TO PUT INVOICE/PACKING LIST , PLEASE CANCEL THE ORDER. THANKS"

At first glance, I really don't want to sell it to this buyer, too many demanding and it was a clear sign of trouble. My sixth sense told me not to accept it. I don't understand why this buyer doesn't want anything to do with eBay inside or outside of the shipping box.  Well, I decided to give it a try and see what will happen. Low and behold, as soon as he received it on the first day, he claimed the item was defective and file a return, upon receiving the item back, I retested it, anything is working properly. eBay easily return policy contributed to this kind of buyer behavior

Rather than claiming "changing mind", "order by mistake, or a "find a better price". This buyer cowardly claims the item was "defective". I would have refunded him anyway. I did as he told me, sending the package with nothing inside or outside the shipping box has any eBay marking on it. It was a plain old USPS Priority shipping box.

Is the buyer a drop shipper? or he is just another self-centered, Narcissistic personality disorder? Or BOTH?

Any feedbacks are welcome, Thank you so much for your time.

Drop shipper??

Normally I'd say that it's not a big deal to be used as a drop shipper.

I looked at what you sell- and in this case I would say it's risky. You sell computer parts which requires ordering the correct part for the correct machine. It's hard enough to deal in this category- but at least if it's direct you can handle buyer issues directly and possibly work out any issues and/or fight false SNADs if the buyer confirms in messages that they ordered the wrong part.

When you're used as a drop-shipper, you have no idea what the other seller's ad looked like or if it was accurate to the part you're selling. Because of the parts issue- I would have cancelled as buyer requested with an addition to my BBL.

You can report the buyer to eBay for abuse of the returns policy - add them to your BBL and trust in your intuition next time.

Could be he was going to ship to HIS/HER buyer and would have just slapped his label on the box, but HIS/HER buyer canceled the order, so it was no longer needed it. At least, they did not ask you to change the address and ship to a different one then shown on order. There might be a way to report this, don't know, but I would put them on my block list.

@botak_us  We create our listings so that it says Buyer is responsible for all shipping costs. If they claim an INAD and we get the item back and it is as it was listed, we issue the refund minus all shipping costs. I have had several buyers ask that we ship without ebay or our personal info on or in the package. We sell restaurant computers and printers, etc, and many of our customers have us ship to the restaurant they will be installing the equipment in. We only ship to the address on the sales record. Heavy computer terminals, stands, cash drawers, etc are expensive to ship, so it makes sense fro their perspective to have it shipped directly to the end user. They do not want their customers to know where they got the items so they cannot them contact us and order from us instead.

Buyers do try to get around paying for return shipping by claiming an INAD. We don't argue with them as they will then be prompted to damage the item. Just wait to get the item back. The number of scammers has risen a LOT lately. Good Luck!

We get these all the time - no packing slip, no identifers.

Guess what - I ignore it.  Ship the order as we normally would.  If they are OOS, I am not their fulfillment center.

Have never had someone complain.  You order, we ship.  Box of our choosing and a packing slip in every order.

BBL this wunder buyer and sorry you dealt with this.  This job gets harder every day!

Yes its a drop shipper.  I have had my share of them.  So far, I have not had a single issue with any of them.  I used to get annoyed about the "Don't do this or that".  Now, I get excited about another sale.  If they are not the end buyer, I don't mind, I got another sale, and money in my pocket.

Does not matter

That approach is a clear violation of eBay's Money Back Guarantee. I'm surprised you haven't been sanctioned--yet. If a buyer files for a return/refund based on an INAD, they are supposed to be refunded the entire cost of their original purchase, including shipping, as well as return shipping being provided by the seller. (The exception would be if the item was returned with some kind of damage.)

Just one more reason that, as a buyer, I steer clear of Top-Rated Sellers. That rating is meaningless--it appears to give the sellers the impression they are invincible.

Drop shipper??

Item: BLT steak salt shaker

I sell a item for $40 on ebay. Someone on Amazon has the same item listed for $96. He does not stock them.  When ever he sells one, he buys one from me and asks me the same thing, ship with no paperwork, etc. I am basically his drop shipper.

It used to bother me until i came to my senses.  At $40 i'm making plenty of money. I should be happy to make a sale. I now welcome his orders. Why should i care what he does with it after he buys it from me?  Maybe his buyer wants to return the item or file a INR.  I'll let him deal with it. Not my problem.

Good luck!

Really don't think this would be drop shipping. The seller (OP) is not shipping the item to the buyer's customer. It is being shipped to the buyer, who in turn will ship to their customer.

What do I care what a buyer does with what I'm selling as long as I'm getting my price and paid on time?

As sellers we need ways and means to make more sales.    Why spend time inventing reasons to not make a sale?

As if things aren't hard enough......

All 3 of my accounts are down 49% from 90 days ago.       I've stopped buying entirely and have to figure out how to stay profitable bringing in 1/2 as much money.

Let's not find reason # 212 to not follow thru on a sale.

Why block sellers list? You can just block them like any seller, OR just don't buy it from. If you don't buy it from the seller, the seller can't force you to buy it. So, no deal or transaction. It is that simple.
