Drop shipper??

A buyer recently wanted to buy my item. Here is the buyer requirement.

"PLEASE DO NOT INCLUDE ANY PACKING LIST OR INVOICE IN THE BOX AND DO NOT PUT ANY EBAY DOCUMENTS OR EBAY BOX/TAPE FOR SHIPMENT. PLEASE SHIP TODAY IF POSSIBLE. IF YOU HAVE TO PUT INVOICE/PACKING LIST , PLEASE CANCEL THE ORDER. THANKS"

At first glance, I really don't want to sell it to this buyer, too many demanding and it was a clear sign of trouble. My sixth sense told me not to accept it. I don't understand why this buyer doesn't want anything to do with eBay inside or outside of the shipping box.  Well, I decided to give it a try and see what will happen. Low and behold, as soon as he received it on the first day, he claimed the item was defective and file a return, upon receiving the item back, I retested it, anything is working properly. eBay easily return policy contributed to this kind of buyer behavior

Rather than claiming "changing mind", "order by mistake, or a "find a better price". This buyer cowardly claims the item was "defective". I would have refunded him anyway. I did as he told me, sending the package with nothing inside or outside the shipping box has any eBay marking on it. It was a plain old USPS Priority shipping box.

Is the buyer a drop shipper? or he is just another self-centered, Narcissistic personality disorder? Or BOTH?

Any feedbacks are welcome, Thank you so much for your time.

Drop shipper??

I don’t go out of my way to avoid top-seller but it’s not a reason to look for them. Last year I saw a TRS with well over a thousand negs and neutrals. Granted, they had several thousand positives but that, in my mind, doesn’t negate the fact they made over a thousand buyers unhappy. In far too many instances, TRS just means quantity over quality.  It’s meaningless. EBay absolutely has the ability to weed out the cheaters and scammers but why should they? They got their FVF. They know that thousands of new buyers come on every year.  So what if the unhappy buyers are one-and-done?  Well, they do tell their friends.

Many many years ago I didn’t hesitate to hype up EBay to family and friends. Now I only do so with many caveats. For many, it’s the only game in town, just be careful...

Why block sellers list? You can just block them like any seller, OR just don't buy it from. If you don't buy it from the seller, the seller can't force you to buy it. So, no deal or transaction. It is that simple.

I'm guessing it's because with a blocked seller list the idea is that those sellers' listings wouldn't appear in search results when that buyer is logged in. Or if they did appear- the buyer would get some kind of pop up warning when trying to purchase. Either way- it means buyers wouldn't have to cross-check any personal lists of sellers they don't want to buy from. It's not like a buyer can't keep their own list- but this would make it easier for them. I guess some people have long lists? I really don't know.

Personally speaking- while I see the usefulness and convenience in a blocked sellers list, I'm doubtful that the demand would be great enough to be worth the expense of building out this kind of tool. I'd prefer to see eBay put money into fixing the many broken things around here. YMMV.

For a seller maybe. For a buyer it does.

Read that example about $40 ebay→ $96 Amazon.

Would you, as a buyer, want to overpay 140% just for someone's profit? Or are you looking for a best deal?

I personally do occasionally ask to include something into the package and I can state that many Chinese sellers are actually drop-shippers. Some just ignore my request and in the end I receive the package in more than 3 months and actually forget what I bought it for (because the requested note with that info isn't there), others contact me with stupid excuses that they don't have printers to print that info in order to add it into the package or a couple-year-old seller with several hundred feedback claims it is a huge factory with huge workload and the workers have no time to fulfill my request.

Some of you will say I'm annoying. Please calm down. Apart from profiting market parasites I may have different projects with items meant for each. If you want to make a sale so much, it shouldn't be so much trouble for you to add another piece of paper besides an invoice and/or custom declaration that you are obliged to fill.

Most likely drop shipping. Usually don't care if they are. Unless they're annoying about it. Send it out now. Where's the tracking number? Stuff like that.

If they ask for no packing slip, no guarantees. But I'll usually oblige. But the rest seems like a bit much. Your call if you want to proceed. But it's probably fine.
