Like if I want to go on a vacation for 10 days or visit relatives or go in the hospital. They can't buy from me for 10 days. Just fixed price and no auction listings listed.

That clears it up. Thank you so much!
Sure would be great to add it to the page as @wastingtime101 suggested & as you implied is there, b/c there's nothing there about it. Even when you click the little I for Information & get a big long explanation of everything, there's still no reference to handling time.

Hi @wastingtime101! I just heard back that changes were made to the help page and you can see it here. Thanks again for the feedback and suggestion for the update. Hopefully it helps to make things a little more clear.
I'll also include a screen shot of the updated bullet point:

::: Sigh :::
I give up. The question about handling time will just never get a clear answer, and the non-question about delivery dates will be answered again and again.

Thanks, it's a slight improvement velvet@ebay, however the main point was missed.
People keep questioning handling time not estimated delivery dates and the update does not reflect any information about handling times.
Can you please push back and suggest they add a few more words to that page? See below.

I will let them know about the request to have handling time specifically called out in that bullet point. Thanks for the continued feedback @wastingtime101!

velvet@ebay That rewrite is still focused on delivery date and does not address whether HANDLING TIME WILL BE UPDATED so that a seller's scores for on-time shipping won't be affected.
In particular, the requirements for TRS status state: "Transactions where you upload tracking details within your stated handling time, and the carrier scanned the shipping label either before or after your handling time, are on time and validated." The Help page needs to clarify this.
Example: If a seller has 1-day handling time, goes on Time Away for 3 days, sells an item on their first day of time away, and ships promptly on day 4 when they get back, will this count as "upload tracking details within your stated handling time"? The question that needs to be clarified is whether their handling time will be seen as 1 day or 4 days. Delivery estimates are completely irrelevant for this particular evaluation measure.

Hi @nobody*s_perfect! The handling time will start upon the sellers return, and is why it's not necessary to update it. In your scenario, the 1-day of handling will start upon the sellers return after being away for 3 days, so it won't be considered a 4 day handling timeframe. It's a 1-day handling timeframe that starts as soon as the seller said they would return.

Great. Please clarify that on the Help page.

Please note this thread in which a seller has been penalized for not shipping within their stated handling time after setting up Time Away: "programmed a “Time Away” notification from February 18th – March 3rd. During my "Time Away", I had a total of five items that were sold. I mailed them out on March 3rd, the same day I flew back home. However, THREE of those five items were incorrectly labeled as “Shipment Overdue”. It resulted in being demoted from Top Seller to Above Standard."

That sounds unusual @nobody*s_perfect and I'm glad to hear it didn't happen to all five transactions. I would encourage them to contact Customer Support so those three transactions can be reviewed and any necessary action taken.

OK, I get what you're saying velvet@ebay. Handling times aren't actually extended - it's the date they go into effect that changes. That's why this keeps going back and forth and why there's still confusion.
For better clarity, this is my suggested change to the policy page:
Excluding the instance above in which delivery dates won’t be updated, you don’t need to make any manual changes. Your handling time will go into effect when your scheduled Time Away expires, and estimated delivery dates will be automatically updated in the Shipping and Delivery section of your listings to ensure you do not need to ship items while you are away.
Unless @nobody*s_perfect has a better suggestion on how to word it?

I'll pass this last request on @wastingtime101 and we'll see what they say.
