Do I have the right to cancel a BIN order without being subject to negative feedback?

So, I just had a buyer issue, guy was asking for partial refund even before the item was delivered because he felt he "overpaid".  Once he got it, he claimed it wasn't as described so he could get the refund.

I was worried of a possible issue with the buyer even before I shipped after I looked through his feedback.

Since you can't leave negative feedback for a buyer, there's no way of blocking these possible problem buyers with the bidder/buyer rules.

If I put a clear disclaimer in my descriptions that I reserve the right to cancel an order, would that give me justification in doing this after reviewing a buyer's feedback?

Just wondering if there's any way I can avoid future headaches and lost money like this.

Alas!  There is nothing you can do except accept the return, send him the return label, refund upon receipt of the returned item and put him on your BBL.

I don't believe that disclaimers of the type you propose are allowed.

I did report the buyer, but I know ebay won't do anything about it.

I don't understand either why it says he has 100% positive feedback when he has tons of negatives (as a seller) but not in the past year (hasn't sold anything lately I believe).

OK, a little "education" for you.

1)  What do you want eBay to do about the buyer?  How do you know that they won't do anything about it?  Best I am aware eBay does NOT discuss any actions they take with anyone's account with anyone other than the account holder.  So "knowing" eBay will do nothing, just is not true.  But it sounds like one wants "retribution" on this buyer because they did something to you?  Is that anyway to live one's life?  Set up a "contingency fund" or self insurance fund to off set cost of these situations.  Life can be a lot less stressful.

2) Buyers can only receive positive feedback, period.  So anyone who is "just" a buyer will have a FB score of 100%.  Also any negatives on a FB% age out over time, one reason one has to search specific FB comments.

Yeah, I just caved to the partial refund because if he sent it back, I'd be out about the same amount of money after what I paid to ship it and ebay charging me the return label.

Then I also run the risk of it not being returned in the same condition I shipped it and losing even more money.

One might consider that by "caving in" one has now set them self up as an easy mark or "victim" waiting to happen, especially if the buyer is part of a ring of scammers or shares the particulars of the transactions with buddies.

All of the "costs" of selling are not limited to sourcing, eBay/PP fees and shipping.  One needs to figure in the occasional loss, etc. so work that into one's business plan.

Good luck!
