Disabling the "guarenteed by"...

I am very good about shipping within a day, but is there any way to shut off the "Guarenteed" by so and so day on Fast/free shipping?

Covid and usps has been making it so packages show up atleast 2-5 days later, even with 2 day priority.

I know ebay sent out a statement about shipping delays, but buyers still often don't understand. There's an I want it now mentality.

If your shipping is free and the estimated delivery is within 4 days, ebay will guarantee the date so buyers closer by will see a guaranteed date. The only way to change that is if you charge for shipping.

I thought Guaranteed Delivery was a program you had to sign up for.

This is at the top of my Seller Hub

You Qualify For eBay Guaranteed Delivery

Drive sales by making your listings searchable to buyers who look for a guaranteed delivery date.

and I make a point NOT to "opt in now"

I think the OP want's to opt OUT of it.

I hate photobucket right now... PS Answers given years ago may or may not be current now, please check with current posters to the boards to see if the information is still relevant.

If you are Opted into "Guaranteed Delivery"  you can opt out by going to your site preferences page and it's about 4 sections down.

We place a 10 day handling time on our items to cover shipping delays during these times. Will reduce handling time when things get back to normal.

Yes and no. Even if you opt out, ebay will add it to whatever listings you have that they feel qualify. It caused me trouble for a couple cases in the past, even though I opted out and want nothing to do with the program.

There is the program that you are referring to but there is also a fast and free guaranteed shipping program that has been around for about 1 1/2 yrs.

f your listings are identified as Fast ‘N Free , they will be covered by seller protection.

Fast ‘N Free listings are characterized by:

  • 4-day or less delivery
  • Free shipping
  • Shipping within the  48 contiguous US states
  • No local pick up or freight as default shipping option
  • Isn’t in Classified Ad format

Listings are labeled as Fast ‘N Free  automatically by eBay—so we will cover those orders with seller protection.

We agree to cover the liability of these listings because we’re confident in our ability to calculate your delivery time. If a delivery is late, we promise to make it right for customers. Read the details of how we’re backing our sellers here.

Assuming that you are not enrolled in the Guaranteed Delivery program and you just want eBay's imposed Fast N Free Guarantee to go away just change your free shipping and charge $ .02 for that same service.

This is what I did awhile back and it has worked well. This way you don't have to bump out your 1 day handling unless you want to.
