Description Field is gone from my sellers listings.

I hope I have the board where ebay reps reply.  The description field on my listings has disappeared. I get very frustrated with poor capsulizations of my descriptions by computers or staff. Sometimes it is incoherent, so I monitor it after I post a new listing and the entire description field is gone. It is also gone on general purchase screens for every lusting i looked at.  I uninstalled ebay for android phones and reinstalled and it did nothing.

You’re not the only one, I looked at a couple of other sellers’ listings and the description section is gone.

Yes, mine are gone too, but only on the app (all okay on my desktop).  Many buyers complaining about this issue under 'Ask a Mentor', but no eBay rep has responded yet. Seems to have started just a few hours ago.

The eBay app seems to be affected by the issue, as well as mobile browsers in mobile mode.

Try using a desktop browser or a mobile browser in classic mode or desktop mode.

I thought I was going crazy. I don’t see descriptions at all. How can a company this big push app updates like this

Actually, it’s every single listing. I’m just a buyer and I’m browsing some frequent searches and every single listing on the web and on iOS app is missing the description… makes it hard to buy anything without additional info. I hope eBay takes action to fix this soon because this is total crap! Even items in my purchased list and items I’ve looked at before in my watch list are missing the description, skipping directly from ‘item details’ to sponsored items or frequently bought together items etc. This sucks for buyers and sellers since I won’t be buying anything without viewing the description…

I’m not using the app, but am on mobile (Safari on an iPhone) so it’s most likely a mobile issue.

I’d go check on my laptop, but there’s a cat napping on my lap so I’m stuck on the couch for a while 😸

My reply is similar to others.  It does not show up on iPhone app, but does show up on iPad app as well as on my desktop.

Ahhh, thanks for the post.  I just got a message from a buyer telling me she looked everywhere for measurements & can't find them.  Sounds like she may actually be telling the truth.

Item descriptions do not show up tonight on my iPhone or iPad app. They're on the website OK--seems to be an app issue. I hope it's not a new "feature" or "enhancement"!

Hi @downunder-61! This does appear to be mobile related and the team is aware and looking into a fix. I did find out that on Android you should be able to double tap on the title to see the description as a workaround.
