Re: Demoted from Top Rated to Above Standard

I'm boarding the same boat in June because I can't even make 100 sales in 12 months. Man, has it been a slow year! 😑

Re: Demoted from Top Rated to Above Standard

This is going to hit a lot of smaller sellers due to the slowness of sales. I am at risk of mine being lowered for the same reason. You would think eBay would look at that and make an adjustment but they are too busy changing too many other things that don't always seem to work out for the better.

Re: Demoted from Top Rated to Above Standard

It sounds like it could be happening to a lot of sellers. The last 30 days I net $200.50 in sales. Never have I experienced anything like this. June is the last month I sell using a store. I will not renew my store come July. I will still post my items just not on a store. **Notice how I didn't say sell** that's because I don't expect to sell but if I do I will take it as a bonus. Good luck to you all!

What are you hoping to appeal?

Re: Demoted from Top Rated to Above Standard

I lost my TRS during the covid crisis.  My customers were not receiving their orders timely even though I shipped next day.  One of my orders wound up in another state.  For 3 weeks it sat in the USPS warehouse and it was supposed to go to a neighboring town that was 7 miles from where I live.  Even though it wasn't most sellers fault, for some reason Ebay still held the seller accountable.  Sellers have no control how fast or slow the mail moves once it's picked up to be shipped.   Sorry for your situation.

Re: Demoted from Top Rated to Above Standard

It allows eBay to charge you more and unlike sellers here who care about their buyers eBay could care less.

What are the additional charges when going from Top Rated to Above Standard?

Same happened to me. I fell to above standard for a period or two before getting back to Top Rated. It was all beyond my control. I don't even think it hurt my sales.

Everyone whose sales have dropped. When real viewing numbers started coming in the megasellers adjusted a whole bunch of prices when they saw what no real eyes were looking at and thus a lot of you might be in the situation where most of your items are available from other sellers much cheaper.

Almost without fail when I check a few listings from someone who says their sales died I find that someone (sometimes 50 people) has a better price than they do on seemingly everything they have for sale.

Price may not be as important with one-off antiques that the buyer is unlikely to be able to compare side by side with an identical one. But price matters hugely for anything that you can find a bunch of with a simple search.
