I read what I could on this, but I still can't see how giving someone 7 days to pay when all my auctions end on the same day is any benefit to me. Sure, I'll gladly combine purchases bought in an auction to help on shipping, but not if I'm going to have to wait a week to get paid. Why would I do that? There is no reason. Someone didn't think this through. Look, I use the auction method so there is an end to the days I have to be here answering questions. Now, I have to keep checking every day to see if the buyer paid or not... he can hold off 7 days to pay, but I've got one day to ship. Insanity strikes again.. I want out of this program. I am not going to be captive to this computer every day for 2 weeks.

Your problem stems from your retention of the "Buyer Rules" that activates the eBay "Auto-Pay" system. Originally intended to take care of complaints of non-paying buyers, eBay came up with this plan instead of sanctioning buyers that don't follow the rules and PAY. Unfortunately, it did more to run off PAYING buyers, especially those who would like to make offers or bid on multiple listings. It limits the payment options a buyer can use, and resulted in automatic separate billing for offers that were accepted, or auctions won. Combined shipping/invoicing was removed.
Basically, if you turn these off, your problem is solved. You will be able to accept requests for an invoice, or send invoices to your buyers once again for multiple purchases. YOU can then choose the duration you want for payment, i.e. all auctions won for five days, 3 days, or use the automated assistant to file the unpaid item cancellation as you see fit. Problem solved.

Buyer Rules:
*Require buyers to provide a payment method before they place a bid.
*Require buyers to provide a payment method before they make an offer.
Click submit or save.
You just might be pleasantly surprised that you get more bids, more sales as others have reported instead of treating buyers like they are going to be deadbeats right out of the gate. With the auto-pay buyer rules.

It's not intended to be a benefit for you. It's intended as a ben fit for your buyers. 🤔

As I understand it the 7 days is to give a buyer who is bidding on more than 1 auction of yours time to see if they win more auctions so the items can be combined for shipping.
Auctions seem to me to be more labor intensive than BIN.
BIN you list and wait for the sale.
No need to be here all day waiting.
If you get a question or sale, you will get an email or notification on your phone otherwise just check in once a day.
You may also want to change your shipping to 3 days?
You are not stuck with 1 day.
I hope someone comes along that knows how to disable the 7days on auctions.
I dont ever use them and its a new thing eBay is trying.

That is the problem. I don't want to be here every day to see what I have to do for a customer. I sell, they pay, I ship. This is not a job.

I’m also **bleep** off about this. I just had a buyer buy a cheap item and now I don’t even get paid for a week. I doubt they really need 7 days to raise $30. If they really were shopping my other items, they should only have like one day, if that.

May want to use Fixed Price then.

Did eBay drop "autopay"?
This was a fairly recent option that would not allow customers to bid without registering their method of payment.
Then if they won, payment was immediate.
Auctioneers wanted it.
Buyers hate it and do not bid.
So I guess it got dropped.
With Fixed Price, we can still use Immediate Payment Required.

You offer Combined Shipping. If they pay before they win another auction then as you say "I've got one day to ship" If you have to ship in one day after payment and they are waiting a few days for another auction to end, then how is it you would combine the shipment if you already shipped, in one day, the item that was already paid for?
You have a conflict in your one listing.
The title says Free Shipping but under Shipping it says $50 Ground Advantage. You may wish to fix that before someone bids on it.

I'm not liking it either. It would make sense if I had items randomly ending on different days.
They can pay any day withing that time frame too. My issue is getting to the post office on a weekday around my work hours is difficult.
I have my listings end on Fridays, and go to the post office on Saturdays. This feature throws a wrench in that.

"Auctions seem to me to be more labor intensive than BIN."
For us, BINs are more work because they can sell at any time, but our auctions all end on Sunday - every week, and before 'auto pay' seven out of ten were paid that day and packed for Monday mailing. Now with auto pay nine out of ten are paid. And the 'seven days to pay' bit just means we get paid next Sunday, but still on a 'pack' day.
Technically we could sell a BIN every day and thus be continually mailing yesterday's sale and packing for tomorrow's mailing.
Now granted, mailing not a big deal for us as the post office is behind our back fence, and we just hand over our stuff to the guys packing the trucks.

You chose both the auction style listing and the 1 day shipping. The one day ship is just fine but IMO auction style listing is a bit of a pain for both the shopper/buyer and seller. as most people want their paid for item(s) pronto and the shopper goes away disappointed if they weren't the winning bidder. Auction for people that like the "gaming thing" Fixed price with immediate payment w/1 day keeps you close to the Big A. delivery performance.
As an former eBay seller and a career seller.learned quickly to always look at a shopper - buyer as if you were standing in the shoes of the them aka having empathy for them to solve their needs the best you can. Served me well..

Bill Gates is perfect voice for "Life is not Fair" ask all the small software companies he put out of business using his massive clout not market preference.
The market does not always decide what is best. Sometimes pigs do.

First of all, as others have said, you can turn the payment requirement off.
That being said, we LOVE the auto pay deal - No unpaid auctions in six weeks.
We think that ebay should have been 'managing payments' both ways since MP started - buyer 'pays' managed payments and managed payments pays seller. Ebay should have been making all new sign ups add a payment method up front.
".. 7 days to pay when all my auctions end on the same day"
All our auctions end on same day like you. All our 'auto pay within an hour' did just that. Four of the auctions were the seven day [and for some reason eight hours] ones - Two paid manually within two hours so were packed/mailed with the rest, one auto paid yesterday one minute after the 7 days/8 hours, so going out with yesterday's auctions. The other just ended yesterday.
Again, no unpaid auctions in six weeks.
