I posted two listings OVER 24 hours ago and neither of them are showing up on any kind of search. They are showing "Active" but it doesn't appear anyone can see them. Listing numbers are
404779250790
and
404779228412
I've been away from eBay for several years (hence I had to create a new account, which SUCKS!) but is this the new norm?
Thank you

There have been recent reports of indexing taking more than 24 hours, and that appears to be the case here. They don't appear to have been revised either. Make sure that you leave them alone, and they should be indexed and searchable soon.
When you have more seller experience, that may increase the chances of your listings being indexed more quickly. In general, it is higher priced items, those with higher-fraud potential, and sometimes military items that are more likely to take longer to index.

Okay, this is EXTREMELY helpful... wow, have times changed. Not even sure if this is going to be worth it because I don't need the money, I just wanted to get rid of some collectibles. That certainly doesn't mean that I'm excited about being ripped off... lol These items have value and I'd like a fair price for them or I'll just keep them.
What return policy should I go with?
Thank you again for being so helpful.

Accept returns...seller pays for label. That way you're covered should the buyer not return the item, which happens a lot. A lot of them are testing the waters especially with new sellers. This way you can call their bluff. Make sure that you keep track of what the item weighs. Some will send back a different item and eBay will refund them. Hopefully this is something I'm hoping eBay is going to work on and address full force.
Have fun and Happy Selling!

I just paid to promote this listing (paid $2.99) Can you even see it?
I can in fact see the item but when I click on "view sellers other items" there are no active items under the account, not even this one. Something is still wrong and I suspect it has to do with completing your setup in managed payments, the verification process and the micro deposits once your bank account is linked. FYI you may want to consider a separate checking account for your eBay transactions. You may want to read the help file link at the bottom.

Thank you so much! I appreciate it. I guess now I'm more concerned about people trying to scam me than the delay in the listings... ugh! Sounds like it's just an "indexing" thing and I won't sweat it too much. I can see the listings from the links you gave me but I'll just keep watching to see when they show up in a regular search. I did pay to promote one of the items, so we'll see what happens.
You guys are great... truthfully, if it weren't for both you and ckimodog, I probably would have just thrown in the towel on the new eBay. Almost not worth the trouble. Thanks again!

Return policy
-----------------------------------------
Forever, and ever I had "no returns".
I of course knew that "not as described" (true or false) trumped my policy. If someone did a remorse return, I would generally accept, eat the initial shipping, and refund on return. Ifeltthe no returns woul possibly make the buyer consider more closely before purchasing.
After much thought I have switched to "returns accepted, buyer pays return shipping. Again, that is only for remorse reasons as NAD override my policy.
My experiences since switching have been positive (knock on wood) with buyers being honest in the return reason choice. In those instances, not only does the buyer pay the return postage, but I am able to deduct initial shipping costs paid by the buyer.
Returns accepted, seller pays................. equals "free returns" and is not something that I have done, or will ever do.
Free returns means......................... the seller pays for any reason including "changed mind", "don't like it", "found cheaper"," played with it, done now"......................................

I don't want to discourage you, but I am concerned about your images.
There are some figures which I do not think are included with the tanks you are offering.
They should not be in the picture if they are not included. Someone could claim Not AS Described if they are not in the shipment. And yes there are people who would.
If they are included, then please excuse my comment.

Promoted listings can be a useful tool for some a race to the bottom for others. I would suggest not using PL and see if your items sell without it. Your item is a bit unique and there are not a lot of others listed.

Oh wow, had no idea... I figured it was pretty obvious that what is for sale is what I listed... not the figures, trees or the photos in the picture... hmmm.

I went ahead and linked it to my regular checking... but I'm having second thoughts.... I used to just have it linked to my PayPal account.

Those listing numbers do NOT exist.
Try again.
@stainlessenginecovers, I'm sorry, but this is not correct.
@lacemaker3 I'm sorry- but it was 100% accurate when I POSTED- which was 45 minutes BEFORE you posted this.
I'm not in the habit of saying something like this that is simply NOT true.

I find having a separate checking account for my eBay transactions beneficial from a book keeping perspective as well as a risk reduction factor. I also have a cashback CC that I use exclusively for any expenses related to eBay transactions such as purchasing shipping labels which I do through Pirate Ship. If anything goes wrong it is simple to handle canceling 1 CC and freezing 1 checking account without worrying about disrupting my personal finances. I keep the funds in the checking account to a minimum.
I have similar setups for the other venues and forums that I sell on.

I'm sorry, you may not have been able to find those listings, but they did exist. So you were mistaken when you said they did not.
They were created about 24 hours before OP started this thread. They had not been indexed, and were not searchable but you could have found them by typing the URLs that I posted.

They are STILL not showing; a 'customer' does NOT have those links- they simply either 'look for that item # and or 'look' for a title- NEITHER of which are NOT showing....I've looked using Edge and Chrome- 2 different computers- and the Chrome is NOT signed in (just a 'peruser' on ebay).

This is PRECISELY the problem I'm having.... The listings are now going on 2 days old, I've linked my bank account.. provided my address, email, phone number, SS# and haven't adjusted the listings at all. I STILL cannot find them in a search and like you're saying... they don't even show up under my name. You literally have to have the direct link to even find them.... so what the hell?... and how the hell am I supposed to sell anything? LOL
It's just SOOOOOOOOOO frustrating.... it shouldn't be this difficult. I've spent hours in the Sales Dashboard trying to find ANY information that still show's incomplete... I am a total loss...
