I posted two listings OVER 24 hours ago and neither of them are showing up on any kind of search. They are showing "Active" but it doesn't appear anyone can see them. Listing numbers are
404779250790
and
404779228412
I've been away from eBay for several years (hence I had to create a new account, which SUCKS!) but is this the new norm?
Thank you

You have NO Listings under this name.
Those listing numbers do NOT exist.
Try again.

Sometimes listings take time to appear. Remember when you're listing, so are many other sellers so it takes time for them to catalog. Try again later and see if they appear.
Good luck and Happy Selling!

FYI...Have you signed on for managed payments? You just created your account yesterday. If not you might want to check into it. That might be part of the problem.

Ummm... yes, I do... lol and if you did a search and COULDN'T find them, that's exactly MY POINT. but thanks anyway...

You mean linking a bank account to my eBay account? Yeah, it asked if I wanted to do that now or if I wanted to wait until they sold... I guess I can do it now and see if that helps. Didn't think it would matter if it gave me the option to do that now or wait until they sold.

I did read that but the notes said "could take up to 24 hours". I waited until 24 hours came and went before I posted this inquiry. I'll keep checking and I'll look into the "Managed Payment" suggestion from ckimdog.

The indexing also seems to review the type and value of the listing, so if your item is high value or high fraud it may take longer.
Use the time to get your Managed Payments account set up.
You know that any payment with be Held for up to 21 days against your customer satisfaction and that payments are released to your checking account on Tuesdays?
So if your item is listed today and sells tomorrow, you won't have the money in your checking account until the 27th.

Get it done now. Should you have a sale, eBay will hold your money up to 30 days to back the money back guarantee. The fact that eBay asked you to add a payment method later disturbs me. It just means that they're going to hold your money longer. This is the new eBay. I am also not seeing any sales on your ID. Do it today.
Good luck to you!

I just did it and I think it did make a different... weird. It appears the views on the items have begun to accumulate. Yeah, it's been years since I was an eBay'er and it is very different now.
02-04-2024 11:09 AM
Hmmm... I still can't find my items in a search and when I click on my own username (here) it still shows I have 0 active listings... lol However, each of my two items have a few more "Views" and each of them have 1 "Watcher".... odd.... whatever. I'm not sweating it (nor the hold on the money). I'll just keep watching but this is extremely odd and not what I had expected... but again, I have not used eBay in about 6 years. Prior to that, I had been on the platform since the turn of the millenia (around 2002 or 2003)

I just paid to promote this listing (paid $2.99) Can you even see it?
02-04-2024 11:26 AM
Yes, I can. Good job. Like I said, it's the new eBay. Pay to play. PS You should really change your returns policy. No returns on eBay does not mean no refunds. Should someone file a return given your policy, you could lose the money & the item as well because you don't accept returns. You're basically a new seller and scammers will be all over this listing looking to rob you. Here's some helpful hints to avoid these types of vermen:
Here are some red flags to watch out for.
1. Buyer asks for your email address, Paypal address-tell them need to pay thru ebay, no other payment method
2. Buyer sends you a phone number to text/call him/her-Don't do it
3. Buyer asks you to buy gift cards to go with the order-Definitely don't do it
4. Buyer asks you to send the item to a different address after paying-Don't do it
5. Buyer wants you to send the item overnight/express and will pay you a lot extra to do this-Ignore
6. Buyers says that they cannot pay through the eBay website and sends you a link to click on so that the payment will go through- No they won't
7. Buyer offers more for your item than the price you have it listed for-Forget about it
Keep your eyes wide my friend. They're everywhere and it's getting worse.
Wishing you all the best, Good luck & Welcome back!

@stainlessenginecovers, I'm sorry, but this is not correct.

One more thing...Watch your shipping costs. You may pay out of pocket with the present cost of that tank you're selling. No doubt you'll have to put it in a box to be safe. Shipping costs are out of site right and I think this is one of the reasons internet sites are doing as well as they used to...just too expensive. Gotta love USPS.
