Sold watch listed as No Refunds. Buyer demanding refund and threatening to refuse delivery, due to their remorse. Fulfilled my responsibility of sending to Authenticator, authenticator did their thing, and shipped to buyer.
What are the possible outcomes of this?

The best outcome is that you realize that you can't list as "No Refunds".
If the buyer marks your package RTS, they've voided the Money Back Guarantee. But I think it's only fair that if your item comes back, you refund for the item... not for the shipping cost.

By all means encourage the buyer to refuse delivery! Once you get the item back you are then allowed to refund less all your costs. But do not mention to the buyer the consequences of refusal of the package. That is there obligation to be aware of, not your obligation to inform them.

You cannot refund a buyer for an item that is still in transit. The watch needs to be returned to you. If the buyer refuses delivery the watch will be returned. What I'm wondering is when items are shipped to the buyer by eBay's authenticator whether it's returned to you? Nonetheless, if the buyer refuses delivery they have voided their Money Back Guarantee. However, this will not stop buyers from filing chargebacks. I'm not sure how this applies to if it's a used items. According to eBay Managed Payment Program there is no such thing as no returns. Therefore, I would refund the buyer after getting your watch back less your fees and shipping expenses since this is a remorse issue. I wouldn't inform the buyer of the consequences of refusing delivery. And of course they need to be added to your blocked bidder list.

My guess is that if the buyer uses the RTS option, the watch will go back to the authenticators, not the seller.

I think you just blew my mind. And it was going so well that the item got through there the one time without problems...

You might check this page:
https://pages.ebay.com/authenticity-guarantee-watches-seller/#faq
f you choose to offer returns, when a buyer decides to return a watch, they will be instructed to send it back to the authentication partner. Within 2 business days of receiving the item, the authenticator will check to verify that the returned item matches the authenticity and condition in which it was originally sent to the buyer. The security tag must remain attached to the item and untampered to be eligible for a return. If the watch passes the authenticity and condition inspection, it will be returned to the seller. Otherwise, the watch will be sent back to the buyer. The shipping label is covered by eBay at no cost to the buyer or seller. If fraud is detected, eBay will work with authorities to take appropriate action.
Note the IF you choose to offer returns........ couldn't find "If you "don't offer returns"....... so I would contact ebay about it....... BUT the watch has to go back to the authenticator to be sure buyer is returning the right one.

it is further down on that link.
For Watches that are eligible for Authenticity Guarantee, an item is considered Final Sale when:
Item is not eligible for escrow as a payment method.
Item condition is “New with tags” or “New without tags.”
Seller return policy for the item is “No returns,” or the item’s return window has closed.
Once an eligible item passes authentication through Authenticity Guarantee, sellers have completed their obligation to the buyer for that transaction.
Transactions that meet this criteria are exempt from Significantly Not as Described (SNAD) claims under eBay’s Money Back Guarantee policy.

Do you have any update on this?

I do, and I appreciate all the answers.
The buyer ended up taking delivery of the item, but now, over a month later, they initiated a chargeback.
As the item when through authentication, and I am covered by sellers protection, I doubt this will have any impact on me.
This guy was a real winner, also a NASA engineer and hedgefund lawyer smh

Your no refunds policy is pretty much irrelevant. If you have a NO RETURNS policy set up you can refuse a remorse return though. However, if the buyer refuses delivery they would have most likely shot themselves in the foot in regard to a INR dispute through the MBG.

have a problem with a seller that bought a 10$ ring for 350$ afyer checking more into the ring i messaged the seller if real gold and he mentioned no. can not do anything now because it still in transit but i feel this shady seller might send me a empty box so i was thing of not excepting the package but reading more into it; i think it is against the ebay rules to do that. i'm in no man land. only thing i can do is open the package with the mailman looking and being a wittness if nothing is in the box and record it when opening the package.

You should be covered by eBay according to the policy on card Authencity program. You need to dig down in the policy, on cards in was in a FAQ' section. With the CA program there are 2 outcomes depending on your return policy. You either keep the money or get the card back. Do not know about watches but should be stated somewhere as it was one of the 1st programs started by eBay. Know 1 thing that was positive, know the window on returns is closed to 3 days not 30 when allowed and buyer cannot use INAD as a reason. They may allow item was damaged but your situation does not fit.
