first time selling on eBay, would like to post my luxury watch for sale. What’s the process of getting it authenticated on eBay?

Make sure to sell your items for loyal buyers.
There is no way to know that a buyer is loyal nor trust worthy. How could they verify that? I would never sell a high cost item on ebay or any other platform.

Most people who attend the seller school are being suspended as quickly as they complete it. It's a waste of time.

@reallyhardtofind wrote:With the way ebay is handling charge backs, I would say unless you're prepared to lose your watch and money then NO. Scammers are filling credit card chargebacks many months after the sale and ebay is refunding buyers. Even if you have proof of tracking etc etc.
And when the watch goes through the Authenticity Guarantee program, chargebacks are handled how?

I couldn't care less how they're handled. I will never sell expensive watches on here ever.

No -- no one is saying you shouldn't use eBay to sell things.
But your very first listing on eBay should NOT be an expensive item that you cannot afford to lose.
Does that not make sense?
All new sellers really should do some eBay BUYING before starting to sell.
And, even then, my above statement still applies.

"Make sure to sell your items for loyal buyers."
Perhaps that's a quote from the seller school handbook.

Thanks for the feedback guys, was very helpful. What would be some good platforms to sell luxury watches since eBay isn’t the best?

I am in the same boat… I have an 1970+ Seiko 14 kt. / 27.9 grams nugget watch that I want need to Sell for my medical bills from my Camcer treatment. In an area of about 200,000 population where I live. I get offered 2/3 of its value! I won’t sell it here I am not going to loose that much… I had it cleaned and a new battery put in! I had it weighed professionally to get the exact gold value! It is almost an ounce of 14 kt gold worth about $1,700. Just for the gold value!
When I purchased it from a fine jewelry store I paid a little over $1.000. For it because of the quartz component of the watch.
I checked with the authentication program… didn’t seem to offer help on the INAD part… only that it would show that it is authentic. That doesn’t help the seller when the box of rocks comes back!

A local jewelry store that buys and sells jewelry. Just a thought.

I'm sorry to pick on you here, but this drives me crazy. The If the seller is scammed, they would be out the watch, not the watch AND the money. They didn't start with the money. You can be out one or the other, not both.
