So I have a store account with roughly 1,000 listings. Different sport and non-sport cards, sets, and lots. I read through the glitch update posted October 15th. But I'm confused. Am I to update each listing one by one? Or am I supposed to be in a holding pattern? Haven't seen any activity in our store since last Thursday. So whatever they did just killed us. And I'm thinking my 1,000+ listings having 'required' fields that are blank in the item specifics is a big problem.

Is this only a problem with listings on the seller hub? I'm not finding it on my listings.

I don't think it has anything to do with using the "hub". If you go to revise a listing, or end a GTC and go to repost you may likely run into the issue of the new "required specifics". If you let your listings simply "roll over" all will be good, however, they may not show up in search for lack of an update manually necessary by you ...or they may show up in search... nobody knows if they will show up...they are working on it, and nobody knows how long it will take.
Hope this helps. ?????

This is an absolutely massive pain. It was just fine the way it was, and I've got over 1,000 listings.
If I have to add this nonsense one at a time, I'm definitely considering moving EVERYTHING off eBay. Sales have been extremely slow as it is, but now to deal with this **bleep** is getting to be too much.

After yesterdays chat, I'm moving forward with the changes to my store GTC listings (one at a time). I wanted to know if not making changes to my store GTC listings would have an impact on visibility. And was told that 'there should be no impact'. Not very definitive.

I'm curious about something. In the chat, they said that they were mapping the IS in the background and that the item would come up in the appropriate search. But some sellers said that they didn't see the IS when they looked at their listing - searched. Does that mean that the buyer will see something in a particular size, but not see a 'size' in the listing - the item just appears there because it is mapped in from the backend, but no size actually stated (in print, so to speak)?
This may have been addressed in the chat, but I got bogged down about page 3 and have to go out for a while, so didn't finish reading - sorry.

Problem is/was when they upgraded, the size people originally had in IS didn't migrate to the new size box. What they are doing is linking the new box & the old size to the size filter, so the item will show up even if the "new" size box has nothing in it. Problem is few trust that that will work, try to find their items with the filter and can't (for whatever reason) and insist they will have to fill in the new box. Apparently ebay can't now migrate the info in the old box to the new box.
I should say that every listing I've looked at, from posts, show the size in the IS box just above the description....... so I'm guessing that is pulling from both boxes.

Thank you. I was wondering about the buyer seeing a size, whether or not the item showed up in the search criteria. Yet, another reason I never went the clothing route.

they said on ebay for business today that now they ARE going to migrate the size info to the new box....... that should be in the "daily" update tonite......lol. Well, maybe........

@christi-and-co wrote:From my understanding the glitch has affected only clothing & shoes sellers. I did opt to (and still in the process of) update my 300 listings. I can’t wait for eBay to get their **bleep** together. I had no sales this past Friday and Saturday. One sale Sunday morning, and now 4 more today and they were all newly listed (unaffected by the glitch) listings and listing I had fixed.
There is ZERO reasons for ebay to have changed the item specifics of ANYTHING anyway.....NONE, other than there CONSTANT PATHETIC CHANGES to justify working in the website design department. These NEVER ending changes do nothing but make sellers LOSE SALES and these people get to keep there jobs pretending "We asked for the web look changes" OR, we have to keep up with eCommerce, blah blah. NO. You don't have to do a NEVER ENDING SITE change look. Now with the serious site manipulation, and 3 years of site design changes, being put in never ending beta testing, OUR SALES ARE GONE. I will say it once, and say it again, over and over until people understand....
CHANGES = LOST SALES

Any seller created variations did not migrate into the new system. Category specific variables migrated in fits and starts but what I’m seeing is there is no separation between sexes, you have to manually go back and adjust each listing to suit the appropriate gender and age group. There is also a problem with the sizing as it merges American and eu sizing into one bizarre search field despite the variations already including specific size designations. The clothing search is a mess if you are a buyer searching randomly by variation specifics.

I am unable to find my listings in searches unless I use exact title - I'm a clothing seller and it's not only the size, but fabric type, style, etc - all of these IS's have been kicked out and there's nothing to map them to. I have a top that was corduroy, listed under the eBay IS "corduroy" for fabric type that has now disappeared, because that fabric type is no longer an IS - when I changed it to cotton, which is one of the new IS's, the listing came up in search.
So this re-mapping of IS's is bogus - there are too many of them that had too many changes and no equivalents. I'm having to redo 300+ listings. I'm glad I've gone to part-time or I'd have more listings to chug through.
The answer given that they did this in October because it was 'before the busy season' is egregious nonsense - October is well into the 'busy season' and it gets busier. I usually do OK with eBay changes, but this one is really ridiculous. This is supposed to be an ecommerce site - and they don't know when the busy season starts for one of their larger categories? Really?
