Hey everyone!
I am an avid shopper here but have not sold any items in a few years. I posted 4 listings with 3 of them selling. Can someone explain why the ratio is what it is on 3 lots of Homies toy figurines.
$44.82
$39.45
$30.24
total = $114.51
funds on hold = $90.33
This means that eBay is keeping $24.18 which exceeds 20% of the final value (price, shipping and taxes) and will not release funds until September 10th at the earliest. These sales are U.S. only so VAT does not apply.
Why am I being charged so far beyond the 12.9% plus .30 per listing?
Again, I am an avid shopper that pays within 24 hours (usually less) and had no discrepancies as a seller in prior years.
I no longer wish to honor these sales and would also like to know if eBay will charge me utilizing any of the methods of payment that are on file?
I am aware that the marketplace has skewed to the “buyer is always right, buyer always wins” mentality and was hesitant to list at all.
The 4th item automatically relisted and states that I might be penalized if I end the listing.
I thought that I had done my due diligence in looking at the fees but obviously I was wrong.
Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance,
Susan

If you want to help the people of the Ukraine, rather than make a small purchase and expect not to receive it, why not donate to one of the many funds set up for that purpose?

It was just prior to those options being available and I have since donated otherwise. I’m really disappointed in the lack of action and reaction where my country is concerned. I am from a military family and they all stand baffled by the fact that the States are doing little when they could be doing so much…it’s heartbreaking 💔

I’m still confused by the amount that eBay is keeping in terms of 20+%. I have been through my account and cannot find any explanation for it exceeding the 12.9% plus listing fee.
I already felt bad for the sellers here and have refused to complain when something isn’t quite right or to leave negative feedback but I’m even more solid in that mindset now.
What are the selling prices of your 3 items? - Just the item selling prices - don't include shipping or tax please - Thank You.

Its scary to even think of what some people are paying off the top of their sold item...
If ebay is pilfering from and exploiting you, why do you still have 23 listings? Is someone forcing you to stay on such an underhanded site?
@isaiah53-57 wrote:Of course, you agree to all this in the FINE PRINT, but I'm seeing more and more of these posts...
Most are from people who haven't read the FINE PRINT! Those who read know exactly what they're paying.
Its so weird how people just pull things out of context to suit their needs or try to prove a point illogically - OK...I'll bite:
You asked: If ebay is pilfering from and exploiting you, why do you still have 23 listings? Is someone forcing you to stay on such an underhanded site?
My reply: If you had read my post, you wouldn't have had to waste your time posting this response - The "Pilfer" and "Exploitation" remarks were CLEARLY in relation to PROMOTED LISTINGS - which I dont use and never will - On top of that, you pose your question in a way as though promoted listings is in no way, shape, or form pilfer and exploitation... Really?
And the 23 listings I still have running? This time last year I had hundreds of listings - I have been selling on ebay since 2005 and I have had many years in the past when I've sold Six Figures worth of goods on ebay... the 23 listings I currently have listed show exactly where I'm at with ebay...
A very famous lawyer said never ask a question you dont already know the answer to...Any more questions?
As I final note, I have always loved ebay and I am saddened to see its current state - I have hopes that the powers that be finally come to their senses before they turn this site into a cautionary tale like Sears...hanging around, but forever in a state of decline...only time will tell
