Hi, has anyone noticed that, in the ebay iphone app, the condition description for items is now hidden under ‘About This Item’, and no longer displays on the main page? I found this out today because I had a dissatisfied customer who said I didn’t disclose something, but I did in the Condition field.

I rarely shop on my iphone, but as recently as a few months ago, the condition description was still on the main page in the app under “Description from the Seller”. Now, it’s buried and you have to click on the little arrow to the right of the 'About This Item' section to see it. How many customers will even do that? How many of my customers are also thinking that I failed to mention things like chips, stains, loose pages, etc., when I did?.

I think I have to revise all of my listings and duplicate the condition descripton into the main description, to increase the chances that someone will read it. But, that's still distressing to me – I think Condition Description is the most important thing in the listing besides photos for used items, and should be prominent and obvious, not hidden or requiring extra clicks!

@studiodeflores as far as i've ever seen, it's been like that for years and many sellers/buyers don't like it

Thank you very much for the reply. It was definitely there on the top page a little over a month ago in the iphone app because I remember wondering why it was labelled 'Description from the Seller' instead of what it is - Condition. I checked on my ipad and it's still on the top page there, where it should be. The buyer that missed it is a big seller, so if that person missed seeing it, just about everyone else would too. I normally roll with the changes, but this is a bad one.

@studiodeflores I agree it is a change, not the way it has always been. It is a terrible change and one that sellers should be told about and care.

Even before this happed, I'd been frustrated by the fact that the condition description cannot be entered or edited using the phone ap.

Now, so far as I can tell, you never see the condition description on the phone ap. When you click the full description arrow, you get the description, not the condition blurb.

At one time, eBay encouraged putting the condition description only in the condition blurb.

Now, I've decided not to use the condition blurb at all.

Thanks so much for taking the time to reply. I started migrating the condition info into the main description in my listings to bypass the issue. I think the more excited posters tend to get more replies. Mine are just the facts. Maybe I should start using titles in all caps like 'EBAY UPDATES SCAM AND HURT SELLERS!!!!!!!'. Ha ha.
