Will we be able to lodge complaints at this upcoming forum? Several seller friends and I can't believe Ebay advertises on our sites (that we 'pay to rent') and that they confuse buyers with their 'suggested retail price". A $2,000 painting by a well known listed artist does NOT sell for $75.00!

With the revamp of the Stores a couple years or more ago. Most sellers likely do not pay any listing fees. What you are talking about is when we paid for listing, many sellers complained about having other sellers ads on our listings. But now it is different. For most of us we don't pay any fees until the item sells.
Ebay does not set a seller's prices.

When the seller sets a accurate price on the auction page and Ebay's throwing in a generic blanket price that doesn't even apply to the listed item. ...Some of us have been in the business for years, and don't need Ebay's help communicating with buyers.
You need to understand that Ebay is NOT doing that, other sellers are. Ebay sells nothing on the site. They do not compete with their sellers.
If you think some listing is a problem for some reason and it breaks an Ebay rule, report the listing.

@werkstatte wrote:How about Ebay's general involvement on our sites? I don't think I was being vague...suggested prices that are contrary to the author's educated offering...yes, and rows of similar items to divert from the page.
Ebay owns this site, we as sellers do not.
Ebay suggests pricing sometimes when you are creating a listing. Other than that, Ebay has no involvement in your pricing unless it is during a Natural Disaster and you are price gouging on needed items.

Oh boy I could argue that point. As a buyer it can be very confusing especially when you are just trying to get down to the part on the listing that has the description. And if they accidentally click on one of those other listings, they have to find their way back to what they were looking at originally. Just a couple of things. Those darn Promoted Listings can be very overwhelming.

But THIS landlord is bringing other sellers merchandise into YOUR store. Because they make more profit by diverting your buyers to a "favored" seller. (Favored as in "willing to pay higher PL fees).
That's crap! And that's eBay.

They pay also just like you to advertise. If you put an ad in the paper do you call the paper and complain others are also selling something ?
IF I purchased a 4x6 inch ad and they took the bottom inch to adverdise my my competition ... yea, I would complain.
You wouldn't?

@clown_car_driver NO. Actually in most cases it helps me gets sales. My prices are typically lower than those that are advertised on the page.

No Mam, ....we're not just"talking about listing fees". I wish we were.
We're talking about PAYING for a "virtual store" and then eBay waltzes in and places other sellers merchandise in it. Can you imagine paying greedbay 300 dollars a month for a "store" just to see other sellers merch splattered all over it with countless ads?
