Complaints?

Will we be able to lodge complaints at this upcoming forum? Several seller friends and I can't believe Ebay advertises on our sites (that we 'pay to rent') and that they confuse buyers with their 'suggested retail price".   A $2,000 painting by a well known listed artist does NOT sell for $75.00!

Re: Complaints?

EXACTLY. We create an environment with our taste and choice of items, and Ebay wants to homogenize everybody's sites with their invasive selfish diversion. (I call them EBEAST.)

That's crap! And that's eBay.

Technically not in our "Stores".  Promoted listings do not appear on or in the Store of anyone.  But it does appear on our listings.  While that may not seem as a difference to you, it is a big one.  We pay for our stores.  Other sellers listings don't belong mixed in with the seller's listings in their Store.

It's ok. Life exists outside of the Ebay autocracy and it's congenial (?) followers. I thought this was supposed to be a helpful forum...NOT.    I'll stick to phoning in questions/complaints.      Buh-bye.

I caution you on this.  One, Ebay is stopping accepting direct phone calls.  Ebay does not have a centralized call center anymore and haven't had since early 2020.

For anyone that searches the internet for a phone number to call Ebay.  This search will likely return a phone number for a SCAMMER.  There are many of them out there when you do a search, so only use the correct links offered by Ebay.

FYI, you can ask for a call back.  This works very well and quickly.  I don't think I've ever waited more than 5 minutes for a call back.  This option isn't always available.  It will depend upon the time of day and if they have staffing available.

Here are your options for contacting Ebay Customer Service.  Please be aware that for social media CS, you send them a Private Message and briefly explain what your problem or issue is.  Feel free to leave your Name, address, phone number and/or your email address in this message.  It is private and secure and it may help to speed up the response for you.

https://twitter.com/askebay

https://www.facebook.com/eBay/

Your options will be on the left.  If you use the link below you can only get to the Automated Assistant or Chat box type AGENT in the box and hit enter. You will then get more options.  Not all options are available 24/7.  It will depend on staffing available.  So sometimes you can request a call back and sometimes you can't.  Sometimes you have the Chat option available and other times it won't me.  If it is important to you to use one of those options, just try back later.

If you use a cell phone or other mobile device, you may need to turn off your Spam filter so that Ebay can call you.

If you are a seller outside of the US or Canada, you will need to use the Chat Option.

They pay also just like you to advertise. If you put an ad in the paper do you call the paper and complain others are also selling something ?

IF I purchased a 4x6 inch ad and they took the bottom inch to adverdise my my competition ... yea, I would complain.

You wouldn't?

Did you actually pay for the listing?  Most sellers no longer pay for listings.  I touched on this earlier in the thread.

When Ebay started PL and they were all over our listings.  All kinds of sellers complained.  We pay for our listings and PLs were taking up space where IMHO they did not belong.

Ebay's answer to that was to revamp the Stores and offer more free listings.

Re: Complaints?

A store and a listing are two completely different things.  As I stated earlier, PL do not appear in our Stores to which we pay for.

No Mam, ....we're not just"talking about listing fees".  I wish we were.
We're talking about PAYING for a "virtual store" and then eBay waltzes in and places other sellers merchandise in it. Can you imagine paying greedbay 300 dollars a month for a "store" just to see other sellers merch splattered all over it with countless ads?

  • Anchor
    $299.95 /mo
    with 1-yr plan* or
    $349.95/mo without
For high volume sellers who want lower fees.

If you're spending $300/month to have 14 listings, you are not putting your money to good use.

Re: Complaints?

Did you REALLY just assume that I would think a crappy eBay store would be any sort of wise investment?? LOL.
Your "assumption" was entertaining. To say the least.
You may want to add your "erroneous" quips to someone else's posts.
Happy Selling!

Re: Complaints?

A store subscription, if the correct level of store, can be a very wise thing to subscribe to for some sellers.  It saves them money as it does for me.

Re: Complaints?

@coolections

My prices are typically lower than those that are advertised on the page.

Oh.  Ok.   I didn't know we were doing a race to the basement.

To see who can get to that minimum charge (what is it, 99 cents?) with free shipping the fastest.

You don't want to maintain a fair profit margin?

You just "wanna get that sale, no matter what."

It is definitely a marketing style ... work hard, make nothing.

Good luck with that.

I just want the real estate that I pay for.

If I paid for a 100' x 120' lot that my modest 3/2 sits on, I don't want my next door neighbor to just appropriate six feet off of the side of the lot line because he can.

Yea, I'm going to (at least) object.
