Competetor leaving negative feedbacks ....

So this buyer, who I identified as a competitor, bought 2 items which I politely canceled and did not ship. Processed a refund and as expected, he left negative feedbacks on both.

Following which he orders 2 more items from his account and 2 from his wife's account ( same address ).

I spoke to the Ebay customer service and they have forwarded this to the online defect team to deal with.

I did "Block" him when he purchased the initial 2 but wonder how he could purchase more?

What is the alternate course of action that needs to be taken as this buyer is based in Canada?

If it doesn't hurt your business, you can add Canada to your exclusion list, at least temporarily.

Too bad there's not a competitor exclusion setting 😂

Re: Competetor leaving negative feedbacks ....

The feedback has already hurt his business and why should he write off Canada when ebay can easily resolve this feedback. The competitor should be kicked off of ebay.

I am confused because the negatives were left at least 6 months ago

Re: Competetor leaving negative feedbacks ....

Last I heard, feedback for unpaid items (since you canceled) can be removed. Contact eBay help > account > seller performance and have them review it, they are pretty good at removed unwarranted feedback 😉

The OP's feedback page shows no fewer than 9 feedback revisions, so perhaps the two Negs that were the subject of this thread have been either revised or removed.

Or different account, though unlikely

A) Pretty sure buyer paid

B) I think we've established that it was warranted. You can't just cancel a sale b/c the buyer is a competitor

The OP had no valid reason for canceling. Not even if they do it "politely" (I always LOL at people who do something that's obviously a bad idea, but think it's OK because they do it "politely").

OP got what was deserved.

Re: Competetor leaving negative feedbacks ....

Just so I'm clear on this, you listed some items on eBay at a set price, and then a buyer made the purchase.

You did a search of what stuff he/she sells and decided that they are buying from you to resell.

So... to sum up, you sold some stuff at the price you wanted, the buyer paid (and paid international shipping), you canceled the sale.

As a preemptive strike on all future sales, you need to cancel whoever buys from you because you don't know if they might resell it in the future, so you'd be better off not selling it to them.  Why take a chance that someone will 'flip' something that they bought from you?  😱

People have garage sales, do flea markets, etc., and you have no idea of who might resell one of your items.  You have to nip it!  Nip it in the bud!  Especially Canadians!  They're the absolute worst! 🤣

On a more serious note, I have competitors that buy from me sometimes.  I don't fret about it.  I got the price I wanted and if they think they can do better, so be it.  Maybe they have someone who's given them a list of things that they want, they lack a couple of things on the list and I have it.  They buy it from me to fill out the order for their buyer.  They might be selling it for the same price, marking it up a little bit, or even taking a slight loss on it.  Maybe they just wanna look good to the buyer and show that they can fill their want list.

Don't overthink every sale.  Breathe deeply a couple of times, and try to relax.

Re: Competetor leaving negative feedbacks ....

Obviously the seller had reasons for cancelling these orders. Sellers generally don't turn down sales for no reason. None of you know the back story, eBay knows it, because he told them. And in as much as eBay doesn't disclose the details about the buyers accounts, this guy isn't sharing said details either.

Did you want this seller to tell "everyone" on this entire forum how to screw your eBay competitors? This would be the worst place to have that conservation.

Moreover,  I bet that a lot of people come on this forum are concerned or afraid to divulge details, in fact isn't there a disclaimer about that on the login page.  And maybe they fear that ebay might do something to them or much more likely they will ironically attract more problems to their own ebay account.

But no empathy for this seller, just pile on one after another, meanwhile maybe he was doing us a favor in the first place.  I looked at his feedback ratings, it looks like all of these negative feedbacks were deleted. A  resolution that speaks for itself

OP told us the reason for the cancellation, and they deserve no empathy for doing it.

@sciencescion23

Here are the seller evaluations you need to be concerned about for not shipping a paid for order & not the worry about  them being a competitor (you made your desired profit) or slamming you with a neg - collect to many bad report cards and your selling days with eBay can end.

Re: Competetor leaving negative feedbacks ....

He has been sending them all along, and getting bad feedback from this guy. So, the reason for the bad feedback is not canceled orders. He investigated the bad ratings, blocked the guy, and after that the blocked guy somehow managed to purchase more. He has a right to not sell to someone he has blocked.
