Hi there does anyone also feel that it is a little unfair of eBay to add the postage cost on to the sale item amount, then charge the seller commission on the total amount? It is not as if we are making money from the postage charge, it is solely to cover postage of the item.

Ues, many people feel that way. They feel that way because of inexperience in trade and a very limited understanding, if not outright misunderstanding, of the fundamentals of commerce. But, yes, they feel that way and say so here ad nauseam.

eBay first started charging the Commission on Shipping (not talking about the transaction fee) because SOME SELLERS took advantage of eBay and eBay had no way of knowing the actual shipping paid by the seller. Now that eBay could correctly charge sellers, eBay changed to the ONE FEE so they can continue to overcharge with the excuse that ONEFEE is easier for sellers to understand.

Many people feel it wrong because a commission should not be earned on Shipping, State Taxes and other Seller/Buyer expenses. Transacion Fees yes. Commissions using a mathematically incorrect formula with eBays ONEFEE results in an "EASY CALCULATION" that always results in higher fees for eBay.

eBay defines how math works on eBay. As long as eBay tells sellers how they changed math calculations, sellers need to pay the fees (or leave). It would be another case if eBay tried to change math calculations for the IRS.

Laws require business owners and the company to be truthful, not fair.

I've been here 18 yrs and never heard them say that.

I think the point is, why are we the seller paying that processing fee? Ebay can go ahead & pay that fee, should be part of their business model. Also are you saying $funds from a sale are being processed 3 times per transaction? Once for the sale, once for shipping, once for taxes? Isn't the whole transaction processed together, so why a fee on processing the tax when there's already a fee to process the whole transaction.
