Combined Shipping - Got to be a better way

The most frequent issue I face as a seller is the question of combined shipping. Ebay really needs to make this process easier for the Buyers. I don't know how many times I've explained the process to a potential buyer, but they give up and end up paying the full amount and I give a refund.

Is there a work around to this issue?

Set up automatic combined shipping.   That way they just need to add all their desired items to the cart using "Add to Cart" and check out in an single transaction. 

Seller Hub > Site Preferences (under Shortcuts section) > Shipping Preferences.  You'll find the options you want in the "Allow combined payments and shipping" section.

Of course this isn't perfect.  I still get buyers who seem to love checking out with multiple transactions, like they've never used an online 'Shopping Cart' before... and I end up having to do a refund here and there, but for the most part I think buyers know what to do.

Yes, stop explaining and keep the money.

No more refunds.

That money helps cover the cost of certain "unfair" returns.

@intergalacticplastic Build the shipping into your price of the item and do free shipping. All the combined shipping questions magically disappear and you make more money.

I never had a problem with combined shipping until ebay forced everyone to pay immediately. That's when all the problems started. I even put in my listings don't pay, use shipping cart and request total, but yet they pay without me fixing the shipping price. I even explained to a buyer after refunding him, do not pay for items. What does he do? He pays for items again. I won't be advertising I combine shipping anymore.
