I sold two auto parts items totaling $343.00. This total includes the shipping for both items.
The final value in auto parts is 12.55%, there was no insertion fee for my listing.
I calculated the final value amount as $43, rounding off.
I purchased a shipping label the day of the sale through ebay as it was cheaper than going to the post office. The label cost $20.
If the final value fee is $43, and shipping is $20 for one label, then $343-$63=$280.
After checking the bank deposit, I ended up with $256.
I then bought the other shipping label for $17.
A few days later I get a notice saying the $17 will be deducted from my bank account for the label.
So $343 = $239 when all said and done. Does this look right? What am I missing because it appears I have been overcharged somewhere. I would expect 343-63-17=$263 as the correct amount. Where did $24 go? The only thing I can think is that they took tax out of it... 7% in my area = $24....

Did you check the transaction details for the fee breakdown? Did you pay an ad fee for promoted listings? If the buyer paid sales tax, you would have to factor in 12.55% on that, too- it's on the total amount the buyer paid. If the buyer is an international customer- even if using a US address- you may be subject to the 1.65% international transaction fee.
You need to check the fees in Seller Hub to answer all these questions and figure out the breakdown.

Fees based on (purchase price + shipping + sales tax) plus 30 cent handling fee.

The fee calculator was right on. I haven't sold anything in a while, these fees are getting out of control. I have no luck with selling auto parts on FB marketplace or CL. Every time the buyer flakes out.
