Caution!! "Awaiting Payment" Error - Buyer Actually Paid

Buyer made purchase on 12/17 Ebay showed item as Awaiting Payment.  I sent buyer a follow-up today remining him of the payment (knowing that Ebay cancels on 4th day), buyer sends me message back that he paid on day purchased (17th).  After several messages back & forth to verify he had not mixed me up with another Seller he says no its been paid.  I checked & the item was clearly shown as Awaiting Payment so I checked under Orders & no payment is shown.  Unable to get ahold of Ebay I asked on this forum & the consensus was not shown - not paid.  Except one person who told me to check my payments account which clearly showed that the item had been paid for!!  It had not only been paid but payment processed & paid out to me - I check again & it is still on Awaiting Payment list (no payment shown).

Horrible part is that I have a buyer that appears to have paid & I have not shipped his item!

I feel bad this happened & it squarely falls on EBAY.

Thought I would do a follow-up on this, after a couple of calls to Ebay, they determined & verified that the customer had paid for the item (even though it was on my Unpaid list) they could not provide any reason for it except "it was a software glitch".  I tried to save the sale but they said the only option I had was to close the transaction which resulted in a lost sale.  They were not apologetic about the loss of the sale or the horrible experience that the customer had.  Unfortunately I was not able to save the sale either.

Anyway another horrible Ebay experience!  John

Wow - that is terrible!  What a horrible glitch - what was the actual payment date?

So sorry for your lost sale and absence of empathy from e-Bay.
