Many of my buyers don't leave feedback.  I've sent a message and requested feedback and still nothing.  Is there any chance that after 60-90 days that the seller is automatically granted positive feedback?  Thanks!

No, I do not think so, buyers who are not upset leaving feedback is dying, note that there are no seller metrics based on feedback

After reading your post I expected to look and see your feedback number was ten or below.

Feedback is now and always has been voluntary. If you harass buyers for it you run the risk of getting a big fat red donut. Most buyers will just ignore you but some may find this behavior an intrusion. Your call. Very few buyers leave it these days.

Yes, I know, it's a roll of the dice.  If feedback is irrelevant why does ebay still have it?

Nope, not gonna happen.   FB has been dying for years.  I maybe get FB for 30% of my sales now & that includes many regulars.

It is really NOT a good idea to bug people for FB.  You will eventually poke the sleeping bear.  It's a lesson I learned about 20 years ago.

I'd be surprised if it lasted much longer, as it doesn't serve much of a purpose anymore.

Please don't contact buyers for feedback. I have seen angry buyers pestered for feedback leave negatives saying, "Here is the feedback you asked for".  I get one feedback for about every twenty items I sell. It does not bother me or affect my sales.

For what it's worth, after a time your transaction number automatically ticks up... so it's all good.

Feedback is optional.

No, because that would not be "feedback".

I don’t understand why you care, with almost 3000 feedback?

Plus, you should know better. Aside from being optional, you could annoy someone into negging you.

Feedback is, and always has been, voluntary.  I think it is a very bad idea to ask for it, because that is just annoying enough that someone is going to neg you for doing so.

Your feedback number is very large, so I don't really understand your concern.  Anyone who uses feedback to try to assess a potential seller will look at your feedback and see that you have many, many very happy customers and then take a glance at your Feedback Left for Others and see that you've had a minimum of 3,475 transactions.

If that record isn't enough to convince a buyer that s/he's safe in your hands, nothing would!

Properly used, feedback is an excellent way to tell the difference between an experienced or an inexperienced seller. It also makes it possible to identify (and thus avoid or report) various kinds of scam sellers or hijacked accounts.

Many buyers are hesitant to make an expensive purchase from a zero feedback seller. If the feedback system goes away, every seller becomes a zero feedback seller. That would be good for scammers and inexperienced sellers, but very bad for legitimate sellers and all buyers.

I have to agree with you on the decreasing value of feedback. If you are getting 30% that is about 20% better than what I am getting. I still continue to leave buyer feedback for every transaction but the value of that is pretty much useless these days since the only thing you can leave a buyer is positive feedback.

As a seller I am not all that concerned about receiving feedback, while it is an added bonus when I do receive it I really don't expect it these days.

Don't do that - you may get one of these:

I'm somewhat surprised that someone who has been on eBay for almost 20 years doesn't know that feedback has always been optional, or that eBay doesn't assign feedback automatically if buyers decline to provide any commentary.    Moreover, most sellers know that leaving feedback for buyers is somewhat meaningless since they can only be left positive feedback comments.   However, we do it as a courtesy to thank buyers for their purchase.  Feedback comments left for sellers are really only helpful to buyers when trying to determine whether they are buying from a reputable source.  Many buyers are more comfortable when purchasing from established sellers.  After selling for awhile additional comments only serve to keep your percentages up in the event of a negative as you can't always make everyone happy.
